ABOUT THE BOOK:: Release Date April 28, 2026

Ashe Roman had everything—fame, money, and stadiums full of screaming fans. Until he destroyed it all.

When the rock-country crossover star crashes back into his hometown of Severn after a disastrous tour, the last thing he expects is to run into the girl he never had the courage to ask out.

Kaelie Swanson remembers Ashe as the quiet music nerd from high school. Now he’s a global celebrity with a reputation for drinking too much and burning every bridge he crosses.

Kaelie has lived that story before. Her father was an addict, and she swore she would never love someone she had to watch destroy themselves.

But the chemistry between them is impossible to ignore. As Ashe fights for sobriety and a second chance at life, Kaelie must decide if risking her heart is worth the danger.

Because loving Ashe Roman might be the best thing that ever happens to her … or the mistake that breaks them both.

REVIEW: WHISKEY REGRETS is the fourth instalment in Jade Marshall’s contemporary, adult MEN OF SEVERN erotic, romance series. This is rock / country star Ashe Roman, and real estate agent Kaelie Sawnson’s story line. WHISKEY REGRETS can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Ashe and Kaelie) WHISKEY REGRETS follows rock and country star Ashe Roman on his downward spiral of addiction. A gig in Severn is followed by a social media nightmare, and Ashe Roman must find a way to reset his life and his career. A high school acquaintance comes back into his life, and Ashe sees the possibility of starting something new, something normal and looking for a place to rent brings Ashe up close and personal with the woman with whom he had a crush, years before.

The world building focuses on addiction and recovery, betrayal and loss. Ashe need to get clean and sober, if only to save his life, and with the possibility of a future in Severn, he is struggling to stay one step of his demons.

The relationship between Ashe and Kaelie is acquaintances to friends to lovers. Ashe is the proverbial rockstar-sex, drugs, rock and roll but his lifestyle is killing him, and Kaelie refuses to stand by and watch Ashe destroy everything he built. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.

The secondary and supporting characters include several local townsfolk, as well as the members of Ashe’s band.

WHISKEY REGRETS is a story of secrets and lies, addiction and spiral, recovery and love. The fast paced premise is dramatic and edgy; the romance is emotional and seductive but struggles in the face of Ashe’s breakdown and spiral; the characters are determined and desperate.

I had an issue with the constant overlap between points of view, repeat conversations and perspectives of the same events throughout the first several chapters of the book. The word count would have been much smaller without the repetition.
