Wren
It was supposed to be a quick job—slip into a criminal network, steal the money, vanish before anyone noticed.
Except now, I’m wedged between a furious cartel and an unrelenting FBI agent.
There’s nowhere left to run… except straight into the arms of the last people I should trust: the Iron Outlaws MC.
Yet Catfish—the biker assigned to shadow my every move—gives me attitude and quiet understanding in equal measure.
I’ve spent my life surviving systems built to erase me.
I didn’t expect a rough-edged biker with too many scars and not enough patience to be the one who sees me clearly.
Catfish
The club got hacked on my watch. Money gone.
Now I’m stuck protecting the outsider they brought in to fix it.
Wren—a hacker with no last name, no respect, and a mouth that drives me wild.
They’re off-limits. President’s orders.
And I’m already one mistake away from getting benched for good.
But when Wren is threatened, the rules go out of the window.
They become the line I’ll cross.
Because there isn’t anything I won’t do, to keep us safe.

REVIEW: THE TOUCH WE SEEK is the sixth instalment in S. Cole’s (Scarlett Cole) contemporary, adult IRON OUTLAWS MC: COLORADO erotic, MC romance series, set in the author’s IRON OUTLAWS world. This is club treasurer and secretary, thirty year old, River ‘Catfish’ Haines and twenty-five year old, Blackhat hacker Wren Maren’s story line. THE TOUCH WE SEEK can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Wren was first introduced in book five-THE TRUST WE BROKE.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be issues for more sensitive readers.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Wren and Catfish) THE TOUCH WE SEEK follows Wren Maren who has been under the protection of the Iron Outlaws MC: New Jersey but their whereabouts has been compromised, and Wren finds themself now under the protection of the Colorado chapter. Assigned to protect Wren, River ‘Catfish’ Haines discovers there is more to Wren then he could have ever imagined; a hacker whose connections to both the Cartel and FBI has placed a target on their back. On the run, and in hiding, Wren and Catfish find themselves at a disadvantage as someone is always a step ahead.
The world building follows several pathways including Wren’s non-binary identity, something everyone accepts but struggles to keep the pronouns correct. Catfish has been warned off Wren as they are a job, and not a conquest but Catfish sees something in Wren that no one else can see. As Wren and Catfish dig deeper into the dark web, a pattern begins to appear, as Wren discovers the person taking aim may be the most dangerous of them all.
The relationship between Wren and Catfish begins as protection but quickly turns into something more. Wren is determined to ensure their identity remains non-binary but their attraction to Catfish threatens the stoic actions and attitude of the Blackhat hacker. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of familiar, dynamic and energetic secondary and supporting characters including several members from both Iron Outlaws MC series.
THE TOUCH WE SEEK is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, obsession and madness, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is detailed and dramatic with much focus on Wren’s non-binary status. The romance is seductive; the characters are determined and desperate.

Scarlett Cole is a contemporary romance author that calls both Toronto, Canada and Manchester, England home. A born city dweller, she periodically quashes the urge to live in the country by hiking up a mountain to remind herself that living away from people would terrify the pants off her.
She believes everybody deserves their love story to be told and loves her heroes on the rough and rugged side…and usually tall (because she married one of those 6ft 6” men you read about in romance books!). She’s an A-type personality and Scorpio star sign, so good luck getting her to do anything she doesn’t want to.
When she isn’t writing, she’s happy to talk about hot men and expensive shoes while drinking a cold gin and tonic. Don’t bring up olives. As far as Scarlett is concerned, they are the devil’s food. As long as you don’t bring up olives, she’s happy to hear from you any time.
She is represented by Louise Fury at The Fury Agency.
