REVIEW: TORRENT STRIKE is the first instalment in Heather Dahlgren’s contemporary, adult RBMC: NEWPORT RI erotic, MC romance set in the multi-authored RBMC world. This is thirty-eight year old, president of the RBMC: Newport, Lex ‘Torrent’ Hayes, and diner waitress twenty-six year old Tessa Levine’s story line.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Torrent and Tessa) TORRENT STRIKE focuses on the start up and establishment of the Newport RI chapter of the RBMC. Following a devastating loss, Torrent wandered, becoming a lone-rider until the day he met Jameson, the president of the National Chapter of the RBMC, and found himself starting anew in Newport Rhode Island. For months, Torrent and the RBMC have established themselves as the proverbial top dogs but not without a potential war with the Bloody Scorpions MC. Meanwhile, Torrent has been dancing around Tessa Levine, a young woman working at the local diner but a young woman with secrets of her own. As Torrent begins his seduction of our story line heroine, her past returns, demanding everything and more.

The world building focuses on the building of the RBMC’s custom fire arms business, known as Savage Steel, a front for the more illegal import and exports along the eastern seaboard, as they exert their dominance over anyone determined to take them down.

The relationship between Torrent and Tessa is one of mutual attraction; a slow seduction of a woman whose secrets are buried deep. Tessa knows how to keep a secret, and in this, her past is determined to destroy not only our heroine but the New Port RI RBMC. While our heroine easily accepts the life of the RBMC, Torrent begins to withdraw suspecting there is something more. The $ex scenes are erotic and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters. We are introduced to ruling members of the New Port chapter of the RBMC, men who hold ranking positions within the newly established club.

TORRENT STRIKE is a story of secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, power and control, acceptant and love. The fast paced, character driven premise is engaging and entertaining; the romance is seductive; the characters are determined and charismatic .
