REVIEW: WHERE WE BLOOM is the third instalment in Kristen Proby’s contemporary, adult THE BLACKWELLS OF MONTANA erotic,romance series, a spin off, set in the author’s The Wilds of Montana series. This is forty-year old, billionaire real-estate developer and hotelier Connor Gallager, and twenty-seven year old, book store owner Billie Blackwell’s story line. WHERE WE BLOOM can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Connor and Billie) WHERE WE BLOOM follows the building romance and relationship between forty-year old, billionaire real-estate developer and hotelier Connor Gallager, and twenty-seven year old, book store owner Billie Blackwell. Several months earlier, a one-night stand ended when Connor walked away knowing there would never be a future but Connor and Billie would come in and out of one another’s lives when Billie discovers Connor is her best friend’s older brother, a man Billie knew nothing about. As Billie and Connor’s relationship continues in secret, Billie realizes there is no future, and is determined to push Connor out of her life. Connor is determined he wants something more, and Billie is the woman that calls to his heart but Connor is keeping secrets, and Billie may be caught in the direct line of fire.

The world building follows Connor as he journeys between the US and Europe, staying on top of the Gallagher Hotel chain as CEO but a group of radicals is threatening a new build in Sweden, and Connor finds himself caught between protecting the woman he loves, the future of Gallagher Hotels on the other side of the world.

The relationship between Connor and Billie begins as a one-night stand that quickly turns into something more but Connor doesn’t do relationships, and struggles with possible threats against the people in his life. As a billionaire Connor is always a target, and falling for Billie means, placing a target on the woman he loves. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and seductive.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, energetic and familiar secondary and supporting characters including Billie’s siblings and their significant others, their parents and Billie’s co-workers and friend. We are introduced to Connor’s security team including Miller and Simon, as well as Connor’s ex wife Fiona, and her husband Ronan, aka Connor’s best friend.

WHERE WE BLOOM is a story of secrets and danger, power and control, family and friendships, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is captivating and sensational; the romance is provocative and intense; the characters are charismatic and dynamic. Kristen Proby drops the names of a number of romance authors, to the point, it feels like advertising and promotion.
