She’s in over her head and he’s in hot water…

Visiting her friends Ellie and Charlie in Hawaii was supposed to be a much-needed vacation for journalist Justine Simms. But when she learns the notoriously reclusive pro-surfer Chase Ryder is coming out of retirement for a competition, she knows she’s found the perfect exclusive to save her career. Of course, then she learns he’s the gorgeous, secretly nerdy guy who broke her heart a year ago.

Will Davenport—aka Chase Ryder—doesn’t do interviews. He keeps his real name out of the papers and doesn’t mix his public life with his private. That is, until the still-heartbroken Justine blackmails him into giving her an exclusive. Seeing Justine, stunningly beautiful as ever, brings back all the feelings he had before. But despite their smoldering attraction, nothing has changed since he had to leave her the first time.

REVIEW: MAKING WAVES is the latest instalment in Ophelia London’s Perfect Kiss series. This is journalist Justine Simms and pro surfer Chase Ryder’s (aka Will Davenport) storyline. Although it is the fourth instalment in the series, it can be read as a stand alone without too much difficulty. MAKING WAVES is a second chance novella about love and forgiveness.

The premise follows Justine as she is invited to Hawaii by friends Ellieand Charlie (Falling For Her Soldier-Perfect Kisses #3) a for a little rest and relaxation. When the paper where she works begins a round of lay offs, Justine needs to find the next big story to save her job and Chase Ryder’s return to the surfing circuit seems like the ideal chance-but Chase is not the man with whom Justine fell in love-it is Will Davenport-Chase’s private persona and the man who broke Justine’s heart when he disappeared from her life six months earlier. Hoping to get to the truth, Justine is surprised when Chase demands his true identity remains ‘off the record’.

The relationship between Justine and Chase is acrimonious as both have pent up frustrations and emotions. Chase wants his identity kept a secret and Justine wants to know why Will/Chase walked away six months earlier. As the storyline develops our couple will begin to understand more about one another and the love they once felt begins to bloom anew.

MAKING WAVES is a romantic look at a second chance at love. There is no sex, no violence and no graphic language. It is a short story with likeable characters and a happily ever after. The connection to the Perfect Kiss series comes by way of Justine’s best friend Ellie whose story is told in Perfect Kisses #3-Falling For Her Soldier.
