She can’t work with him.

They’ve been partners for less than a week, and Roman Smith (if that even was his real last name!) is already driving Harper Crane absolutely insane. His list of faults is a mile long. Roman is secretive, controlling, and far too sexy. Okay, the sexiness doesn’t matter. It can’t matter. What matters is that Roman never listens to orders, he is far too quiet and intense, and Harper is pretty sure that he is up to some seriously shady side business.

He isn’t supposed to want his new training partner.

Roman has spent his life in the darkness. He is far too well acquainted with evil, and working at Wilde? Well, joining the security and protection firm is supposed to be the first step to turning things around in his world. The first step to becoming someone new. But some habits are hard to shake. And Roman knows that his way too beautiful trainer, Harper, is already suspicious of him. Yeah, so…she is right to be suspicious. Until recently, he has been the bad guy in the story. His list of past deeds could give anyone nightmares. Too bad he only wants to give Harper sweet dreams.

Trouble has followed Roman.

Roman has some unfinished business from his past—in the form of deadly enemies—who have tracked him. And now those enemies have gotten the wrong idea about Harper. (Probably because Roman couldn’t keep his hands off her on a case.) They think she is Roman’s lover. They think they can use her in order to get to him. They are about to make the worst mistake of their lives.

When Roman’s enemies kidnap Harper, he drops the good guy role.

Roman races to rescue her—and they are thrown together in close confines. Intimately close. In order to fight the enemies closing in, Harper and Roman have to trust each other. They have to work together. Stay together. Except the longer they are together, the more Roman realizes just how much he wants the fiery Harper. And soon…Roman can’t imagine his life without her.

Can a reformed bad guy get a chance at happily ever after? Maybe. If things get Wilde enough…

REVIEW:ROMAN WILL FALL is the eleventh instalment in Cynthia Eden’s contemporary, adult WILDE WAYS erotic, romantic suspense series focusing on the men and women who work for Wilde Ways Security. This is new hiree Roman Smith, and security agent Harper Crane’s story line. ROMAN WILL FALL can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from third person perspective (Roman and Harper) ROMAN WILL FALL follows the acrimonious relationship between Wilde Ways new hiree Roman Smith, and security agent Harper Crane. Harper wants nothing to do with her new partner Roman Smith. Harper is effervescent, bubbly, take charge agent but Roman pushes all of our heroine’s buttons with his brooding, silence and one-word answers until an assignment finds our couple in the direct line of fire, a target Roman blames on his dark and dangerous past. In an effort to protect the woman with whom he is falling in love, Roman becomes guardian and protector but someone is desperate to destroy our hero, starting with the thing he loves the most. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Harper and Roman, and the potential fall-out as Roman struggles with secrets from the past, secrets that will are about to be exposed.

Roman Smith knows a thing or two about the dangerous players in the game of international espionage having been one of the most dangerous players of them all but it is his past that is trying to destroy his future, and in this he refuse to place Harper in the direct line of fire. Harper Crane knows Roman is keeping secrets including his real identity, back story and people from his past. Without knowing who is after them, Harper struggles between head and heart, and every threat pulls Roman further away.

The relationship between Harper and Roman is tempestuous at best but one of immediate attraction between our story line couple. Roman knows that to get involved with Harper Crane means placing our heroine in the direct line of fire. Together, and in hiding, Harper and Roman will take their relationship from professional to love but in doing so, once again, make Harper a liability Roman can no longer afford. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

The secondary and supporting characters include Wilde Ways owner Eric Wilde; IT hacker and CIA operative Antony Kyle; Roman’s former handler Dexter ‘Dex’ Ryan; museum curator Tomas Archwright, and his assistant Charity Hall. Antony’s story line is next in THE ONE WHO GOT AWAY.

ROMAN WILL FALL is a story of secrets and lies; betrayal and vengeance; power and control; relationships and love. The character driven premise is intriguing and imaginative; the romance is spicy and seductive; the characters are charismatic, stubborn and dynamic.
