ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date April 14 2020

The music industry called me a savant at age sixteen when I uploaded my first video and gained instant fame. And then Drew Amherst of Adrenaline became my mentor, and my career took off.

Everything was great.

Until tragedy struck, and I wondered if I’d ever be able to perform again. I fought back, but all it took was a falling light to bring it all back to the fore. So, I walked away. Because I knew it wasn’t just stage fright. It was so much more.

The only problem?

Drew and the guys are counting on me. If I can’t combat the crippling anxiety threatening to kill me, I might lose more than I ever dreamed of.

Enter Piper Rayne, life coach, with her bullshit about empowerment, rainbows, and butterflies. She smiles all the damn time, and I’m ninety-nine percent sure there’s not a problem she can’t solve.

Until me.

She was given twenty-one days to fix me. To make me see what’s important. What’s real. The problem is, all I can see now is her. The sexy woman who pushes me. Provokes me.

Only time will tell if she’s able to do her job—and I can make her mine.

REVIEW:PROVOKE by Rachel Van Dyken is a contemporary, adult, story line found in the author’s SEASIDE PICTURES romance series, as well as the latest addition to the multi-authored 1001 Dark Nights series. This is twenty-four year old, singer / song writer Braden Connor, and twenty-seven year old, personal coach Piper Rayne’s story line. PROVOKE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Braden and Piper are two previously unknown characters.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Braden and Piper) PROVOKE follows in the wake of a tragedy that left singer/song writer Braden Connor struggling to move forward. Suffering with severe PTSD, anxiety and paralyzing stage fright, Braden Connor was unable to perform. With their upcoming tour only months away, the members of the rock band Adrenaline and D2 hired a life coach for our story line hero, a woman with whom Braden will quickly fall in love. Enter Piper Rayne. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Braden and Piper, as Braden battles his inner demons in an effort to move beyond the past.

Braden Connor had it all; a rising star in the world of rock music until a madman threatened to end it all. Struggling to move forward, memories of that fateful day continue to push at Braden’s sanity, so much so, he is unable to go out in public without severe repercussions. Piper Rayne knows she only has three weeks to coach Braden out of his head, and into the world he had once loved but falling in love with the rock star was never in the plans; a relationship that threatened her professional reputation. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.

For fans of the author’s SEASIDE PICTURES series the return of some familiar faces including Drew, Zane, Will, Ty and Trevor-there is some fun and flirty texting between the boys and the band.

PROVOKE is a story of struggle and recovery; relationship and love. The premise is engaging and captivating; the characters are sassy and quirky-Braden is a bit of a flirt; the romance is seductive. PROVOKE is a quick and entertaining visit to Seaside, Oregon.
