REVIEW: BELLE MACABRE is instalment 4.5 in Crimson Syn’s contemporary, adult RBMC / CIRQUE DIABOLIQUE dark, erotic, supernatural MC series- part of the multi-authored ROYAL B*STARDS MC series. This is Belle and Ethan ‘Macabre’ Hudson’s story line. BELLE MACABRE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise there may be triggers for more sensitive readers.

NOTE: The events of BELLE MACABRE take place approximately ten to thirteen years prior to Coerced Into Submission

Told from four first person perspectives (Macabre, Belle, Serge, Lazarus) BELLE MACABRE focuses on Belle and Macabre’s fight for freedom. Thirteen years earlier, a then sixteen year old Belle witnessed the brutal murder of her mother at the hands of her evil step-father. With no one to help, Belle signed a ‘contract’ with the erotic, supernaturally charged Cirque Diabolique, a contract that signed away our heroine’s life and her soul. Three years would pass before another ‘run away’ would leave his presence on the Cirque Diabolique, a presence that that will force the demons to take control. Enter Ethan ‘Macabre’ Hudson, the man with whom Belle would fall in love. Macabre has a target on his back-a man on the run; on the road to places unknown until he is ‘directed’ to a circus of debauchery, where he will find his heart, and save the soul of the woman he loves. What ensues is the quick building relationship between Belle and Macabre, and the fall-out as Belle’s escape to freedom incites the demons controlling the crowds.

The relationship between Belle and Macabre is one of immediate attraction but Belle has forfeited her life and her soul to an unknown entity, a demon who thrives on the lecherous sins of others. Macabre must remain in hiding, one step ahead of the MC that betrayed his family, but to remain with the Cirque means to sell his soul to the demon in charge. Desperate to free the woman with whom he has fallen in love, Macabre calls in a favor, a favor that is going to cost them dearly. The $ex scenes are erotic and intense.

We are introduced to the ‘ringmaster’ Serge Bastien, and dark angel Lazarus, as well as ‘waitress’ Ginger, and several MC members that come in and out of the story line premise.

BELLE MACABRE is a story of eroticism, betrayal , power and control. The premise is haunting and unconventional in the world of the MC; the characters are broken and desperate-controlled by an unknown power; the romance is edgy and dark.

My name is Crimson Syn, not really, but what fun is it to use my real name. Instead I’ll use my inner goddess’ name, it’s much more fun that way. I grew up in New York City where I had a wonderful education, loving parents and awesome friends. What more could a girl ask for?

I started writing at the age of sixteen. The first romance I read was Stephanie Laurens’ Devil’s Bride. Since then I have been influenced by dozens of flourishing romance authors and even more dashing and daring rogues. I must say it, but Fifty Shades was not my first erotic romance, nor did it influence me to start writing them. If you’ve never read Mary Balogh, Elizabeth Hoyt, Lisa Kleypas, Bertrice Small or A.N. Roquelaure’s Sleeping Beauty trilogy, then you’re missing out. Those were my sweet introductions to erotic romance, and boy were they hot.

So here I am, after reading so many wonderful stories, I have too many sinful tales of my own not to share. I like my alphas rough and possessive, and I have no shame in saying it or writing it. I had delightfully wicked teachers growing up, their books took me to new worlds and brought me new loves. So, I want to do the same for you. I want to indulge my readers in those steamy reads that will send them into the arms of dangerous alphas and deliciously sexy rogues, without leaving the confines of their nice warm bed. If I am able to entice your inner goddesses, then I have done my job and I am satisfied.
