Told from dual first person perspectives (Emmett and Amber) DARK DESIRES follows the building romance and relationship between Irish businessman Emmett Harrington, and registered nurse Amber Green. With the loss of her job, Amber suddenly finds herself homeless and unemployed but a night spent on the town lands our heroine in jail.Calling her best friend Grace, Amber is rescued by Grace’s brother Emmett Harrington, a man whose secrets run dangerous and deep. With no place to go, Amber books a few days at a local only only to discover the owner is Emmett, and the man with whom Amber will fall in love. Emmett Harrington doesn’t need any more complications, and Amber is probably at the top of his list. Discovering Amber has no job, he offers up the position of nurse at his local gym, a position that places Amber front and center in a dangerous game involving the Irish Mafia, and the Russian mob. Unable to accept everything in Emmett’s life, Amber walks away only to realize that her life is no longer under her control, and working for Emmett means working for the mob. What ensues is the building relationship between Amber and Emmett, and the potential fall-out as Amber becomes a pawn in a much bigger game of power and control.
Emmett Harrington walked away from the Irish Mafia but familial connections continue to pull our hero back into the life. Meeting Amber Green gives Emmett pause for something more but as Emmett’s world spirals out of control, Amber is pulled into the fury, often by her own refusal to remain behind.
The relationship between Emmett and Amber begins acrimoniously but a relationship predicated on immediate attraction. Emmett’s lifestyle doesn’t include romantic relations, and in this, our heroine becomes a target to force Emmett to do something he no longer wants to do. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate.
We are introduced to Emmett’s sister Grace and her husband Derek (SAVING GRACE), their father, as well as nurse Mandy, and Emmett’s men Matthew, Nathan, Eli, JP, Liam, and Emmett’s ex Celine; Amber’s parents and her brother Luke; and several members of the Russian Bratva. The requisite evil has many faces.
DARK DESIRES is a story of power and control, secrets and lies, betrayal and vengeance, love and acceptance. The premise is dark and gritty; the romance is seductive and captivating; the characters are strong, powerful, charismatic and determined.

I’ve been shot. It feels like fire ravages my body and mind. I try to roll onto my side, but my brain is scrambling and misfiring. From somewhere, I can hear Emmett so clearly, and then the fire rages, boiling the blood in my veins until I wish for death.
If I am alive, being so hurts too much. I say his name, pleading with him, but the anguish doesn’t end. His breathing is close to my face. I want to beg him to make this stop, but I can’t form the words. Then he’s gone, leaving me to die.
Through the pain and heat, light burns my eyes as I blink them open. Past the haze of pain, he’s there, a vision, leaning over me. So perfect. His mouth moves, but there’s no sound. My eyelids flutter closed against the pain that has latched on to me. It grows in intensity until I wish for death again. Cold sweeps in like a raging sea, taking the fire with it and leaving the ice in its wake. I shiver. My body rattles, and I manage to open my eyes.
Emmett’s face fills my view. Blood trickles down from a cut on his head. He’s screaming as men pull at him. I reach for him, and it’s like he’s given me permission to come back to him. He throws the men away from his arms, and he’s there again, his breath on my face, fear in his eyes.
“I love you. I can’t live without you.” His words give me peace, and I smile; my eyelids grow heavy.
Emmett is moving away from me again, being dragged by Gardaí. His mouth opens in a roar as he tries to push them away. I’m slipping, and everything grows cloudy. He continues to fight, but there are too many of them. They cover Emmett as they take him to the ground. His eyes, so full of pain, are the last thing I see before the cold captures me fully. As my lids close, I realize there’s no more pain. No more anything.
I’m walking through a field of lilies, and I can hear her sweet little laugh. My heart bursts with joy as I run my hands along the flowers and search for my little girl.
