I’m an outcast and a loner, named for death itself. Fate wasn’t supposed to have plans for me.

But then she came back—the girl I once kissed in a thorn-covered chapel in the woods. She came back, and I could no more resist her than I could pry out my own heart. And by some trick of fate, she wants me as much as I want her. The only problem? She also wants the man who owns Thornchapel, Auden Guest.

And so do I.

Eight years ago, I did something to Auden, something terrible. He hurt me back the only way he knew how, and so here we are: our hatred seasoned with pain and my loneliness seasoned with longing. The only thing we can agree on is Proserpina Markham, and she wants us to find a way to be together—all three of us.

If Auden wants to earn her as his submissive, then he has to earn me as well.

But with the discovery of bones behind the altar and the carnal revel of Beltane fast approaching, it’s becoming clear that Thornchapel’s secrets are much deeper and older than any of us could have ever guessed. And no matter how bright and merry a feast of sparks may be, it’s always followed by ashes.

And darkness.

REVIEW: Desperate for More!

The second installment in Sierra Simone’s Thronchapel series, Feast of Sparks wows and enthralls readers has them begging for more. Now this should NOT be read as a standalone, I recommend you read it after the first in the series, A Lesson in Thorns, there is too much back story and information key in the first book that you simple need before reading this one.

But baby once you do? Well get your fuzzy slippers and popcorn ladies and gents, because this one is going to knock your socks off.

We are brought back to Thornchapel and the same characters we all love, but this book digs so much deeper into the lives of some of the group, digs into the secrets of their parents as well. Now without spoilers, because this series is just too good to spoil, I will say, this book was a little harder to follow timeline wise than the first. There are twist and turns, the plot thickens and when you think it’s going one way , you take a whole another branch and it leads you in another direction.

My favorite part about this is the back story we get about Saint and Auden’s relationship, and the ending! The ending, you will not see that coming, I sure didn’t.

These were both such a pleasure to read!! I love the series and can’t wait to see how it end.

When librarian Poe Markham takes the job at Thornchapel, she only wants two things: to stay away from Thornchapel’s tortured owner, Auden Guest, and to find out what happened to her mother twelve years ago. It should be easy enough—keep her head down while she works in the house’s crumbling private library and while she hunts down any information as to why this remote manor tucked into the fog-shrouded moors would be the last place her mother was seen alive. But Thornchapel has other plans for her…

As Poe begins uncovering the house’s secrets, both new and old, she’s also pulled into the seductive, elegant world of Auden and his friends—and drawn to Auden’s worst enemy, the beautiful and brooding St. Sebastian. And as Thornchapel slowly tightens its coil of truths and lies around them, Poe, Auden and St. Sebastian start unravelling into filthy, holy pleasure and pain. Together, they awaken a fate that will either anoint them or leave them in ashes…

REVIEW:

Our Thorns await.

A lesson in Thorns is the first in a new series by Sierra Simone. A warning before we start, if you’re not an open-minded person and don’t like more than one partner play, this may not be for you. That being said this story includes more than just sex, both M/M, M/F and F/F, it’s suspenseful, paranormal and almost has a magical feel to it in some parts.

The story surrounds six people, friends as children and brought back together, years later, back to the birthplace of Thornechapel. Now without giving away too many spoilers, these characters are more than connected as friends, their parents were also friends and also had an experience with Thornechapel.

Throughout the story we are pulled into different plots through different character point of views, but I can say that connection between each character is very interesting and compelling. The story line is very unique and interesting, and you must give it time to come to it’s full closer before you do anything else.

This book was frustrating amazing and it was hard to put in down, there was so much to take in all the time that I felt like if I didn’t read more, I would miss something. Ms. Simone takes a group of child friends and turns it into something I have truly never seen before.

Shame, hot and prickling, needles everywhere at my face and chest and belly as I begin to bend down to the floor. The cool air that caresses my pussy is now everywhere as the position begins to expose my most secret flesh, and there’s no pretending away the reality of what I’m doing. I’m doing something I’ve never done before, I’m offering up the filthiest part of me for inspection, and despite everything the three of us have shared in the past twenty-four hours, I’m flooded with shame. It’s real shame now, not play-shame, and my safe word floats to the top of my mind, a buoy in the clear waters.

Convivificat.

I don’t want to safe out right now, I’m nowhere near the edge, but it’s nice to have it there all the same. Reassuring. There’s nothing they can do that I can’t stop.

And anyway, this is who I am—who I’ve been growing into ever since I found the words to define it.
