REVIEW:HOWLER is the first instalment in Jessica Ames’ contemporary, adult UNTAMED SONS MC: MANCHESTER CHAPTER dark, erotic, MC romance series- a spin off from the author’s Untamed Sons MC. This is Untamed Sons MC president Jake ‘Howler’ Ryland, and Pia’s story line.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Pia and Howler) HOWLER follows with the arrival of MC members Socket’s former love and the pronouncement that The Road Jesters MC had abducted his now adult daughter. Pia has been used as payment for a debt owed, payment Pia is paying with her sanity and her life. Never ones to leave family behind, the Untamed Sons MC go on a search and rescue mission for our story line heroine, a woman who has been broken by the Road Jesters MC. With Pia’s rescue comes a need for retribution, weeks to months of healing, as well as the search for the one man responsible for everything that went down. What ensues is the building relationship between Pia and Howler, and the potential fall-out as Pia struggles to move forward having discovered a family she knew nothing about.

The relationship between Pia and Howler is one of immediate attraction but Pia needs time to heal both emotionally and physically, and in this, Howler is with her every step of the way. Howler’s need for vengeance for the woman he loves is almost as strong as his need to claim our story line heroine. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate.

We are introduced to the members of the Untamed Sons MC: Manchester Chapter: Vice President Blackjack, Socket, Pia’s mother Valentina, and Pia’s ex-husband Max, as well as Wrecker, Griller and Boulder from the Road Jesters MC. Blackjack’s story line is next.

Several weeks will pass when Elyse makes a surprise visit to the Untamed Sons MC, looking for help from the man that she robbed, and announcing she is pregnant with Blackjack’s baby.Still struggling in the wake of the theft, Blackjack battles between head and heart knowing he wanted nothing to do with Elyse ever again but Elyse and her brother are in trouble, and Elyse may be paying with more than her life. What ensues is the quick building relationship between Elyse and Blackjack, and the potential fall-out as Elyse finds herself at the mercy of the man threatening their lives.

The relationship between Elyse and Blackjack begins as a one night stand wherein Elyse, desperate for money, robs our story line hero. Blackjack threatens Elyse if she should ever show her face again but desperate time called for desperate measures, and Elyse found herself grovelling to the man with whom she would fall in love but with Elyse’s announcement Blackjack has a sudden change of heart, and finds himself becoming protector and guardian of the woman he will claim as his own. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense.

We are introduced to Elyse’s younger brother Aaron, as well as the return of Howler and Pia, Socket, Doc Mara, and Terror. The requisite evil has a couple of faces.

BLACKJACK is another story of betrayal and vengeance, abuse, torture and power, acceptance and love. The premise is gritty but entertaining; the romance is erotic and seductive; the characters are desperate but determined.
