REVIEW: WICKED BOND is the fifth installment in Sawyer Bennett’s contemporary, adult THE WICKED HORSE erotic, romance series focusing on the men and women who work at the night club The Wicked Horse and its’ private, exclusive sex club The Silo. This is club owner Bridger Payne, and Maggie Waylon’s story line. WICKED BOND can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person points of view (Maggie and Bridger) WICKED BOND is an emotional story line that looks at two broken people whose hearts and souls are damaged and destroyed. Maggie Waylon is on the run, hiding more than just herself. Enter Bridger Payne, the man who will protect Maggie with his life, even if it means walking away from the woman with whom he is falling in love. What ensues is the building relationship between Bridger and Maggie, and Bridger’s need to take stock of his life before he is able to move forward.

Our hero is an enigma, a mystery who keeps his secrets, and his past, close to his heart. His role throughout the series has been to administer punishment to those who desire an aggressive sexual adventure. Bridger’s history is heartbreaking and has shaped the man he has become today- the kink, the $ex, and his need to inflict pain and humiliation are representative of the who, what and why of a tortured man. He believes he is not worthy of love or a happily ever after, and with it comes the guilt of falling in love with a woman he thinks he does not deserve.

Maggie Waylon left home at an early age eventually landing as the ‘other woman’ to an MC president with a connection and history with Bridger and The Silo, and finds herself falling in love with a man who is unable to let go of the past. Maggie has a secret and Bridger is the perfect man to protect all that she loves. The $ex scenes are graphic, intense, erotic and seductive.

The world building continues to focus on the exclusive and private sex club The Silo where membership has its’ privileges. Several of the previous storyline characters play secondary and supporting roles including all of the female heroines from the previous installment who reveal to Maggie their connection and relationship with Bridger Payne.

WICKED BOND is a moving, heartbreaking, and intoxicating story line. Bridger’s tragic past is dramatic and intense; Maggie’s introduction to our hero comes with a price. The premise is powerful and energetic; the characters are broken but healing; the romance is a struggle towards a happily ever after. Sawyer Bennett’s WICKED BOND is an emotional story line where one man must fight the demons from his past to move onto his future.
