ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date November 9, 2021

I was a nanny in need of a job.
He was darkness personified.
I had little to call my own.
He was filthy rich, powerful, and dangerous.
The assignment was simple, and my goal was too.
Take care of his son. Keep my head down. When he least expects it, destroy him.
It should have been easy. I thought it would be until I looked into his stark blue eyes.
Kissing the enemy is a bad idea, but so is falling in love with him.
He doesn’t know my crumbling foundation is built on lies.
When he discovers the truth, I’ll find out if he’s as brutal as I believe.
I came here to steal his life.
I didn’t count on him stealing my heart.

REVIEW:KINGDOM FALL by A. Zavarelli is a contemporary, adult, dark, erotic, criminal underworld romance story line found in the multi-authored UNDERWORLD KINGS series. This is twenty-seven year old nanny Natalia Cabrera, and ‘Debt Collector’ Alessio Scarcello’s story line. KINGDOM FALL can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty.

WARNING: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be triggers (including graphic violence) for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Alessio and Natalia) KINGDOM FALL follows the building but contemptuous relationship between twenty-seven year old nanny Natalia Cabrera, and ‘Debt Collector’ Alessio Scarcello. Alessio Scarcello is a Sovereign Son, a member of a secret organization known as The Society, and as such, has privileges not accorded the ordinary man. Hiring a nanny for his six year old son Nino, Alessio comes face to face with his future, in the guise of twenty-seven year old Natalia Cabrera, a young woman whose own demons run dangerous and dark but all is not well in Natalia’s life, and in this, Alessio is determined to uncover her secrets, even if it means, killing her in the process. As Natalia and Nino develop a a relationship without the inclusion of Alessio Scarcello, the truth comes to light, and Natalia is forced to run, when her past comes back determined to end her life. What ensues is the back and forth, acrimonious relationship between Alessio and Natalia, and the fall-out as Natalia’s life will be forfeited for sins of the past, and lies of omission.

Natalia Cabrera is hiding in plain sight having fled the brutality of a monster who left her for dead. Working for Alessio Scarcello brings Natalia up close and personal with her primary target, a target with whom Natalia will slowly fall in love. Alessio Scarcello doesn’t do relationships. He is a cold, angry, determined killer who feels nothing for no one including the people he has sworn to protect but secrets and lies reveal a much deeper and darker heart breaking reminder, that not everyone or everything is as it appears to be.

The relationship between Natalia and Alessio begins as a business arrangment that struggles in the face of haunting memories, and paralyzing fear. Natalia is hired as a nanny for Alessio’s son Nino but Natalia’s attachment to Nino goes much deeper than anyone could have ever imagined. In an effort to protect Nino, Natalia is willing to die at the hands of the man that she loves, a man who is about to destroy our story line heroine. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and seductive but I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word, although only used twice, more for shock than anything else.

We are introduced to Alessio’s housekeeper Angelina; mother-figure Gwen, her son Enzo; Society girl Marianna; Alessio’s cousin Angelo, security guard Manuel, and Abella Moretti. There is definitely some history between Abella and Angelo. Not everyone can be trusted, someone is out to destroy our story line heroine.

KINGDOM FALL is a story of power, control, vengeance and death. A story of secrets and lies, abuse and domination, acceptance and love. The premise is gritty and dark; the romance is provocative and erotic; the characters are broken, damaged but learning to heal.
