About the book: Release Date November 11, 2019

All I want for the holidays is the willpower to resist my brother’s sexy, charming, easy-on-the-eyes new business partner.

Instead, I’m stuck planning all the holiday parties with the one guy who makes me want to break my dating diet.

Who thought that was a good idea?

Oh, me. Yep, brilliant, strategic me who raised her hand and said yes I’d love to hang mistletoe with that hot former sports star. (Note to self: Mistletoe leads to toe-curling, knee-weakening kisses.)

And I’d love to get snowed in with the one guy I shouldn’t fall for. (Addendum to the note to self: You know exactly where eight inches of snow leads to. Ahem, eight inches.)

As long as I can make it through the holidays I’ll be on my merry way, fa la la la la. But the holidays have a surprise for me.

REVIEW: SPECIAL DELIVERY is the fifth instalment and novella in Lauren Blakely’s contemporary, adult ALWAYS SATISFIED romance series. This is former Super Bowl-winning tight end Vaughn Channing, and party planner Quinn Summers. SPECIAL DELIVERY can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Quinn and Vaughn) SPECIAL DELIVERY follows Quinn Summers as she is tasked with planning the Christmas party for the Premier Agency, a sports management group co-owned by her brother Josh Summers and former Super Bowl-winning tight end Vaughn Channing. A meeting between Josh, Vaughn and Quinn ends with Vaughn and Quinn making arrangements for the next day, arrangements that include the start of a relationship that nobody wanted. What ensues is the quick building relationship and romance between Quinn and Vaughn, and the potential fall-out as Vaughn’s time in Manhattan draws to a close.

Vaughn Channing doesn’t do relationships, and has issues of trust when it comes to affairs of the heart. Having been burned in the past, Vaughn is on a hiatus from dating and women until he comes face to face with his business partner’s sister, a spunky, independent businesswoman who in turn, isn’t looking for a happily ever after. Time spent together planning for the upcoming holiday party finds our couple drawn closer together until the time for Vaughn to move on with his life.

The relationship between Vaughn and Quinn is one of immediate attraction; a sexually palpable attraction that threatens Vaughn and Quinn’s ‘just say no’ to relationships and love. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are reintroduced to Quinn’s brother Josh (Overnight Service #4), and their younger sister Amy.

SPECIAL DELIVERY is a quick read ; a fast paced novella that follows the best friend’s sister romance between two people who never expected to find love or a happily ever after. The character driven premise is engaging and inviting ; the characters are flirty and sassy; the romance is spirited and tender.
