ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date February 28, 2022

Chemistry is not another word for love.

That’s what my boss, the grumpy single dad with brilliant green eyes, says anyway.

I have my V-card. He’s ten years older than me. I work for him.

Nate Hughes has a million reasons why a relationship between us would never work. Honestly? It’s all a farce.

He can’t deny the sparks when we’re together. His soft smiles, brief touches, and protective behaviors come too easily. And when I need a place to stay? He can’t stop himself from offering me a room—though I’d prefer his bed.

Our forced proximity brings things to a head. Our shared experiences and traumas draw us closer. Our undeniable attraction has us toeing the line between friends and lovers—whether Nate likes it or not.

He’s right—we do have an intense chemistry. But that doesn’t mean that I won’t fall in love with him … even if he can’t love me back.

REVIEW: Sweet is just that, sugary sweet left on your tongue. This was a bittersweet read for me as the lovely author had to back out of an event I was attending. That being said, it was a fabulous read. Sweet is book six in the Landry Family series, it can be read as a standalone or in series order, which I always recommend.

Sweet has a little bit of an age gap, mixed with grumpy sunshine, mixed with hot single dad, so if any of those light your sparker, this will be right up your alley.

Page is still a little young, but she knows herself, and she knows she wants Nate, her boss. From the get go of this book, the vibe is happy, go lucky, Page meets stick in the mud, needs to loosen up Nate and his son Ryder. Their connection is deep and they both had less than happy upbringings, and though they have an age difference, they both have more in common than they think.

But let’s face it, Ryder steals the show, as a reader that kid is so cute and I wanted more of him in the book. There is some conflict in the book, like any good plot, but one that is more mental and emotional than anything. Sweet was a touching read that I whipped through in one sitting, the author did a wonderful job painting this picture of family, growth and hope and I hope to see more coming soon.

“I had nowhere to go, Nate,” she says, sticking her bottom lip out. “But I knew my friend Nate would be more than happy to help me out of my bind. You weren’t here so I came on in. I waved to Shaye as I walked through the front door so it’s not like I was being sneaky.”

Like that makes it okay.

“What would you have done if someone else would’ve walked in here and saw you naked?” I ask, quirking a brow.

She laughs. “Nate, no one else has the balls to walk into your office but you.”

“And you, apparently.”

“Well, and me.” She grins and picks up the curling iron. “I’m glad you’re here. I kind of need a favor.”

I recline against the couch and prepare myself.

“Now’s a little late to be asking for favors, don’t ya think?” I ask.

USA Today bestselling author Adriana Locke lives and breathes books. She resides in the Midwest with her husband, her sons, two dogs, two cats, and a bird. She spends a large amount of time playing with her kids, drinking coffee, and cooking.
