ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date April 19, 2016

Gabby Morgan isn’t looking for love. Not even a little romance. Following a rocky past that she’d just as soon forget, she’s determined to focus on the future. One that most certainly doesn’t involve the tough-as-nails, short-on-words, hot-as-hell biker…or his kid.

Blake Mahone may not be done with women, but he’s finished with relationships. Then Gabby Morgan enters the picture. She’s flawless, refined, and as his kid’s teacher, way out of his league. She acts like she hates him, but her eyes tell a different story. Before he knows it, Blake finds himself hot for teacher, and he’s more than ready to learn all her secrets. Now all he has to do is convince her to give him a shot…without getting them both killed in the process.

REVIEW: GRIT is the first installament in JC Valentine’s adult, contemporary SPARTAN RIDERS erotic, MC romance series focusing on the men and women of the Spartan Riders MC. This is club president Blake Mahone, and kindergarten teacher Gabby Morgan’s story line.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Blake and Gabby) GRIT follows the building relationship between Spartan Riders MC president Blake Mahone, a single father to a six year old boy Ash, and kindergarten teacher Gabby Morgan. Blake has not made a great impression on his son’s teacher-late to drop off and pick up his son on one too many occasions, Blake finds himself judged by the woman who would steal his heart. What ensues are Blake’s attempts to seduce his son’s teacher, and Gabby’s attempts to stay one step ahead of her past.

Gabby is no stranger to dark lovers who ride motorcycles, and in this our heroine is on the run from someone from her past. Blake’s ex, and the mother of his child, is a woman determined to destroy everything that Blake wants, and what Blake wants is a future with Gabby Morgan. When a former MC rival makes a re-appearance in town, Blake begins to suspect that things are about to get very personal.

The relationship between Gabby and Blake is one of immediate attraction but looks can also be deceiving when our leading couple begins to judge one another based on who they are, and what they do- a love/hate relationship between two people drawn together by a young boy whose seen rejection first hand. Blake is determined to seduce his way into Gabby’s bed, and Gabby is reluctant to find herself in bed with a student’s father. The $ex scenes are seductive, provocative and intense.

The secondary and supporting characters include several members of the Spartan Riders MC, as well as Gabby’s parents, and Blake’s vindictive ex. Blake’s adorable six year old son Ash will break your heart.

GRIT is a story that ends on a happily ever after-for now. The story line conflict has yet to be resolved, in fact, Gabby’s past is two fold, with vengeance and betrayal sought with dogged determination. The violence is limited in comparison to many other MC series, but that’s not to say that the MC lifestyle is any less dangerous or dark. The premise looks at family, friendship and betrayal. It is intoxicating, intriguing and inviting; the characters are colorful and animated; the romance is passionate and intense. JC Valentine’s GRIT is a great start to a new series you don’t want to miss.
