REVIEW:THE BRATVA’S LOCKED UP LOVE is the sixth instalment in Jagger Cole’s contemporary, adult BRATVA’S CLAIM erotic, romance series. This is thirty-four year old, Russian soldier turned Volkov Bratva member Maksim Zaitsev, and twenty-two year old, physician Dr. Quinn Coolidge’s story line. THE BRATVA’S LOCKED UP LOVE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Maksim and Quinn) using present day and memories from the past, THE BRATVA’S LOCKED UP LOVE follows Dr. Quinn Coolidge, the in-house doctor for a secret, black-ops military base, run by a man she thought she knew but when a prisoner is repeatedly attacked without provocation, Quinn finds herself falling for a man others consider a monster and a killer. Enter Russian Bratva members Maksim Zaitsev, and the man with whom Quinn will fall in love. As the attacks against Maksim increase, Quinn struggles with the truth about the who and what of where she works, a truth when revealed, will force Quinn to choose between family and love. What ensues is the forbidden but building relationship between Quinn and Maksim, and the fall-out as the attacks against Maksim continue, and our heroine is pulled further from the direct line of fire.

Maksim Zaitsev has no idea why he has been held prisoner in an unknown facility. He has done nothing to warrant the imprisonment and treatment but a familiar pattern begins to emerge, possibly connected to the Bratva back home. Quinn Coolidge is a prisoner in a gilded cage. Working in the underground prison, Quinn begins to question the people in charge, and quickly discovers that she can no longer trust the who and what of her current situation.

The relationship between Quinn and Maksim begins as patient and doctor but quickly turns into something more. With each attack against Maksim Zaitsev, Quinn is pulled into the aura of that man with whom she is falling in love. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate but I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word.

The secondary and supporting characters are most, if not all, are questionable on so many levels. We are introduced to Quinn’s best friend June, who in the end, aids our heroine with yet another run for her life.

THE BRATVA’S LOCKED UP LOVE is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, greed, obsession, family and love. The fast paced and character driven premise is intriguing, intense and gritty; the romance is fast and furious- the sexual chemistry is intense; the characters are animated and energetic.
