Twenty-three years ago, he hopped on a bus to pursue his dreams in the music business.
But that meant leaving behind the girl who could never really be his.

Now older, wiser, and insanely successful, Mick Tyler has achieved everything he ever wanted, but he’s never been more miserable. Feeling a little disenchanted and introspective, Mick can’t help but let his mind wander through all of life’s “what if” moments. The biggest what if? The girl he walked away from—the one who was too young and had dreams of her own. And now that he’s thought about her once, he can’t stop wondering.

Sienna Ashley is desperate for a little excitement. As thrilling and satisfying as her pursuit of scientific research has been for her intellect, it’s left her heart feeling a little neglected. For years she dreamed of finding someone who not only understood her brains but accepted her and all her quirks. Once upon a time she thought she’d found that someone, but it’s been over two decades since he walked out of her life.

Past and present collide when Mick and Sienna unexpectedly come face to face. Together, they decide to see what could have happened had they chosen a different path all those years ago. But they’ve given themselves a deadline. Two weeks. Two glorious weeks to either work each other out of their systems, or to embark on the love of a lifetime.

REVIEW: ONE MORE CHANCE is the fourth (and final ?) instalment in Samantha Chase’s contemporary, adult BAND ON THE RUN romance series focusing on the band Shaughnessy. This is forty-two year old, agent/rep/promoter Michael ‘Mick’ Tyler, and thirty-nine year old neuropsychologist Sienna Ashley’s story line. ONE MORE CHANCE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Mick and Sienna) ONE MORE CHANCE follows the second chance romance and relationship between forty-two year old Michael ‘Mick’ Tyler and thirty-nine year old Sienna Ashley. Twenty-three years earlier a then sixteen year old Sienna Ashley professed her love for her brother’s best friend, nineteen year old Michael Tyler as Michael readied himself for the next chapter of his life. Michael knew Sienna was too young and her future had yet to be set in stone, so Michael walked away, leaving a heart broken Sienna in his wake. Fast forward to present day, Michael, now known as Mick Tyler, talent agent extraordinaire, will come face to face with his past in the guise of neuropsychologist Sienna Ashley. Sienna Ashley was in New York for a medical conference and wanted to reconnect with her older brother but Sienna never expected to see Michael Tyler, the man who stole her heart years before. With both in need of a much deserved vacation, Michael and Sienna agree on two weeks together, two weeks in which Michael makes good on everything on Sienna’s bucket wish of things to do. Reconnecting with one another opened their eyes and their heart to a possible future but bad news from home sends Sienna into a spiral, a spiral that Michael cannot fix. What ensues is the rebuilding romance and relationship between Michael and Sienna as our couple must navigate two successful careers, burgeoning friendships, and a love that has crossed more then twenty-three years.

The relationship between Michael and Sienna is a second chance, rekindling romance in which neither has forgotten the one that got away but Michael knew Sienna was too young, and our hero had yet to become the successful agent he is today. Sienna’s heart broke the day Michael Tyler walked out of her life but two weeks together only proved the heart still wanted what it lost years before. Neither one had married or started a family, and the next chapter of both of their lives was about to begin. Michael knows their time together is coming to a close but our hero is hoping for something more. There are no $ex scenes, everything is implied.

The secondary and supporting characters include most of the members of the band Shaughnessy; Mick’s assistant Lynn; Sienna’s brother Jason, and her best friend Professor Eleanor Stefani.

ONE MORE CHANCE is a story second chances, lost love, family and friendships, and a happily ever after. The premise is emotional and engaging; the romance is passionate and dream-worthy; the characters are energetic and fun. ONE MORE CHANCE is a heart warming and captivating story of eternal love.

REVIEW: ONE MORE MOMENT is the third (and final ?) instalment in Samantha Chase’s contemporary, adult BAND ON THE RUN romance series focusing on the members of the rock band Shaughnessy. This is the rock band Shaughnessy’s drummer Julian Grayson, and vocational rehabilitation counsellor Charlotte Clark’s story line. ONE MORE MOMENT can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for background and cohesion. The BAND ON THE RUN series is a spin-off from the author’s SHAUGHNESSY BROTHERS series.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Julian and Charlotte) ONE MORE MOMENT focuses on the building relationship between Shaughnessy’s drummer Julian Grayson, and vocational rehabilitation counsellor Charlotte Clark. Three months earlier Julian stood at the altar waiting for his bride to be, a woman who was about to pay the piper for years of infidelity and humiliating our story line hero. Fast forward to present day wherein Julian returns from three months on the road, going everywhere and nowhere, only to return to an empty house in Malibu with nothing to do. A quick trip to a local coffee shop finds Julian coming face to face with his future, a woman who believes Julian to be homeless and down on his luck. Enter social worker /vocational rehabilitation counsellor Charlotte Clark, and the woman with whom Julian will fall in love. What ensues is the building relationship and love between Charlotte and Julian, and the potential fall-out as Julian begins to revert back to a familiar pattern but a pattern that now includes a permanent time-off from the band that he loves.

Charlotte Clark is a social worker who wants to save everyone including the stranger she meets at her favorite coffee shop, a stranger who calls to Charlotte like a moth to a flame. Charlotte has no idea as to Julian’s true identity although he wasn’t quite forthcoming with his current predicament. Julian Grayson is anything but homeless but is willing to accept Charlotte’s help in order to keep himself busy for the foreseeable future. Helping out at the shelter means ‘paying it forward’ but paying it forward in order to be closer to the woman with whom he is falling in love. As Julian’s mood and emotional drama improve his friends suggest getting the band back together for another tour not realizing Julian has no plans to go back out on the road.

The relationship between Julian and Charlotte is one of immediate attraction but an attraction tempered by Charlotte’s mistaken belief in Julian’s status. When the truth is finally revealed Julian and Charlotte’s slow building romance turns into something more until Charlotte begins to push a little too hard, as Julian is unable to move on from the past. The $ex scenes fade to black and are mostly implied.

All of the previous story line characters and couples play secondary and supporting roles including all of the members of the rock band Shaughnessy. Julian’s band mates are desperate for Julian’s return but Julian’s heart isn’t in it for the long haul.

ONE MORE MOMENT is a story of family, friendship, trust and love. The premise is realistic and heart warming; the romance is passionate and sweet; the characters are broken and energetic. ONE MORE MOMENT is an emotional, inspiring and sensual look at a second chance at love for one man who struggles to trust and love again.

But as the work brings Paige and Dylan closer together, their attraction grows…and so do their challenges…

REVIEW: ONE MORE PROMISE is the second instalment in Samantha Chase’s contemporary, adult BAND ON THE RUN romance series focusing on the rock band Shaughnessy. This is bass guitarist Dylan Anders, and PR person Paige Walters’ story line. ONE MORE PROMISE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story line is revealed where necessary. BAND ON THE RUN is a spin-off from the author’s SHAUGHNESSY BROTHERS series.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Dylan and Paige) ONE MORE PROMISE follows Dylan Anders in the months after his release from rehab following a drunk driving accident where our hero was at the wheel of the car. With community service on the horizon Dylan opts to investigate the literacy campaign promotion offered by the PRW Agency. Enter Paige Walters, the woman in charge of the agency’s campaign, and the woman with whom Dylan will fall in love. What ensues is the slow building relationship between Dylan and Paige, and the fall-out when Dylan’s past refuses to let go of the present.

Paige Walters is a stickler for order; a no-nonsense woman who works for her father but always finds herself on the outside looking in as her older sister continues to enjoy the accolades of being daddy’s favourite, drawing blood in a game of one-upmanship and personal attention. As the literacy campaign runs into high gear, Paige Walters finds herself pushed to the side as her sister enjoys the benefits of our heroine’s hard work. Paige’s low self-esteem and inability to demand her due will be the downfall of a woman when disaster strikes at the most inappropriate time.

Dylan Anders knows that he has three months of community service working with the PRW Agency and the literacy campaign but falling into the cyclone that is Paige Walters was something Dylan had never imagined. Trying to keep his distance was virtually impossible, and when the PR agency demanded that Paige and Dylan play the role of a lifetime, meant Paige’s pull would become stronger than ever.

The relationship between Paige and Dylan begins as a business arrangement that will soon take on a life of its own when the paparazzi gets wind of our hero’s potential downfall. Their initial meeting leads to many acrimonious confrontations caused by our heroine’s inability to bend her own rules. Pretending to be in a relationship finds our couple growing closer together, a relationship that will soon grow into something more. The $ex scenes are passionate but mostly implied and fade to black.

We are introduced to Paige’s controlling father Robert Walters, and conniving sister Ariel Blake; Paige’s assistant Daisy, as well as the reintroduction of Dylan’s band mates Riley and Savannah (This is Our Song: The Shaughnessy Brothers 4), Matt and Vivienne (One More Kiss; Band on the Run #1), drummer Julian, and Dylan’s agent Mick.

ONE MORE PROMISE is a story of family and friendship; recovery and forgiveness; acceptance, romance and love; of the bad boy falling in love with the good girl, and the good girl wanting what she could never have. Our heroine’s attitude early on was a little disconcerting but we soon discover that she has spent her life in the shadows of her older sister-a woman who continues to destroy our heroine’s self-esteem and sense of self-worth. The premise is both heart warming and heart breaking; the romance is captivating and sensual; the characters are realistic and inspiring. ONE MORE PROMISE is a sweet and engaging tale of one woman finally coming into her own.

“Brilliant. Just brilliant,” Paige murmured as she placed her trash in the pail and carefully wove her way through the crowd of people in the coffee shop. Over and over in her mind, she replayed her clumsy act of knocking her stuff to the ground.
And that was after practically orgasming while eating a cake pop.
Okay, two cake pops.
She groaned as she exited the shop and walked toward the parking garage. Why had she agreed to go to coffee with Dylan Anders? Why hadn’t she stuck to her guns and had Daisy call him with an appointment? Not only could she have avoided making an idiot out of herself, but she also could have kept her previous clueless opinion of him intact and not have to deal with the fact that he was a nice guy who seemed to get what she was trying to do.
Other than Daisy, he was the only one who seemed to get what she was doing.
And now she realized she had a fascination with tattoos. Tattoos! When Dylan had first taken off his jacket, she was shocked and a little repulsed by the sheer amount of ink on his arms. But after a little while, she couldn’t help but keep noticing the artwork and found it to be…exquisite. Beautiful. More than once she had to stop herself from reaching out and touching his arms—which, forgetting about the tattoos, were muscular and sexy—and asking him to tell her what had inspired the choices.
Why? Why him? Why couldn’t one of her favorite authors have come in and talked with her like this? Why did it have to be a scruffy, tattoo-covered rock star who not only didn’t look the part of anything she was trying to do, but who potentially would also be a distraction for…well…her and probably any female in a ten-mile radius?
Although, she had to give him credit—other than the barista who handed him their order, no one bothered him. No one came looking for autographs or pictures. He blended right into the crowd. How was that possible? When she got home, she would do a thorough Google search and see what else she could find out. Yes. That’s exactly what she’d do. As charmed as she was by him—and she truly was—she had a feeling that part of it was an act to get her to agree to have him join the campaign.
But why? Why was this such a big deal to him? He wasn’t going to be paid for it. And really, compared with being in one of the biggest rock bands in the world, this was nothing. It wasn’t doing anything for him on a professional level, so why was he so anxious to be a part of it? What could he gain?
If there was one thing Paige prided herself on, it was being a good judge of character. And Dylan didn’t strike her as the selfless type. He had a swagger and a confidence that seemed in direct conflict with the image she was hoping to project with this campaign.
So was this personal? Did he know someone who struggled with reading? He was clearly well read based on what he’d shared with her, so she knew he didn’t have the issue. Someone who struggled with literacy didn’t read that many books in a three-month time span. Should she decide to work with him, she’d have to ask.
With a groan, she pulled out her keys as she approached her Toyota Prius Prime. Her sporty little hybrid was shiny and new, and she loved how she was doing something good for the environment at the same time. It had been a fight to get her father to install charging stations in the company garage, but he had relented and now…
She stopped and noted that her car wasn’t charging.
“Dammit, how could I have forgotten to plug it in?” Then she remembered how she had hurried in this morning and feared she was late. Honestly, it wasn’t the first time she’d forgotten. But as she stepped closer, she saw that was the least of her problems.
She had a flat tire.
“Dang it,” she hissed. With a loud sigh, she opened the door and tossed her bags in and then popped the trunk to get at her spare tire.
Then she really started to curse.
It wasn’t until that moment she remembered how this model no longer came with a spare but with a patch kit and a pump. Great. Like she had even the slightest clue how to patch a tire! She let out an aggravated growl and slammed the trunk shut.
“Everything okay?”
Great. Just great. Turning around, she forced a smile. “Oh…hey, Dylan. What are you still doing here?”
“I wasn’t in a rush to get anywhere and I got a call, so I decided to take it rather than be distracted on the road. So…what’s going on? Everything okay with your car?”
And for the life of her, she didn’t know why her temper chose that moment to snap, but it did. “Actually, no. It’s not. And you know why?”
Dylan was about to answer, but she cut him off.
“Because life sucks, that’s why!” she cried. “Or maybe it’s just me. I forgot to put my car on the charging station. Why? Because I’m too worried about how it will look if I’m three minutes late for work! Then—because that’s not enough—my front tire is flat. Flat! It was fine this morning! And my super-new, super-cute, super-efficient, great-for-the-planet car doesn’t come with a spare tire. Oh no. That would have been too easy. No, this car comes with a patch kit and a pump. So I have more trunk space, but now I have to figure out how to patch a tire!”
“I’m sure it’s not—”
“Do you see the lighting in here? My glasses? Do I look like someone who is going to be able to spot a hole in a tire and then patch it? Take the tire off and put it back on? Do I look like I even want to?” she asked, her voice going into the hysteria category.
Slowly, Dylan climbed from his car and walked toward her. “Okay, okay. How about we call AAA or something? Maybe they can send someone to do it for you?”
While it was a completely reasonable suggestion, it pissed her off even more. “Because I wanted to leave! I wanted to leave an hour ago! And now I’m never going to get to leave or go to the grocery store to get brownies and wine, so I can go home and Google who the heck you are!”

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date February 7, 2017

Matt Reed was living the dream until a bad career move sends him back to his hometown for much-needed privacy. Instead, he finds someone he never expected: the woman whose steamy kiss he remembers like it was yesterday.

Vivienne Forrester finally has her life in order… until Matt moves back to town. She doesn’t want to think about the time she threw caution to the wind with him, but running into him everywhere, it’s impossible not to.

•••••••••

REVIEW: ONE MORE KISS is the first installment in Samantha Chase’s contemporary, adult BAND ON THE RUN romance series- a spin off from her Shaughnessy Brothers Series. This is guitarist Matt Reed, and food blogger Vivienne Forrester’s story line. You do not have to have read the original series to understand or follow One More Kiss. Any important information from the previous series is revealed where necessary. We were first introduced to Matt in THIS IS OUR SONG (Shaughnessy Brothers #4).

Told from dual third person perspectives (Matt and Vivienne) ONE MORE KISS is a story of forbidden romance between guitarist for the band Shaughnessy Matt Reed, and foodie blogger Vivienne Forrester. For years Vivienne has had a crush on her brother’s best friends, the now famous rock guitarist Matt Reed, and when she finally had the nerve to do something about it, Matt was whisked from her life without a backwards glance. Fast forward two years and Matt Reed comes back to his hometown following a disastrous Broadway debut and attempt at a solo career. Hiding out until the media frenzy died down, Matt would find refuge at the home of his childhood best friend Aaron Forrester, wherein a relationship will ignite with his best friend’s younger sister. What ensues is the growing love between two people who have no idea how the future will unfold.

The romantic relationship between Matt and Vivienne is slow to develop as our story line couple dance around one another while Matt adjusts to time alone. Vivienne works from home and Matt offers to be her ‘guinea pig’ and taste test the recipes Vivienne has to offer. The romance is passionate; the $ex scenes are implied.

Riley and Savannah Shaughnessy (This Is Our Song) play secondary and supporting roles, as well as several members of the band who are also struggling in their personal and professional lives- while the band is on hiatus, Riley finds success with a solo career, Matt will find love, Julian begins to manage the career of an up and coming female star, and Dylan all but implodes. We are introduced to Vivienne’s brother Aaron-an over protective older brother who isn’t happy about Matt’s interest in his younger sister; and Matt’s father-a man who made Matt’s younger life miserable as the memories continue to assault our story line hero.

ONE MORE KISS is a story of romance and love; of second chances, trial and error, and acceptance of what was and what will be. The premise is sweet and lighthearted; the romance is sensual and tender; the characters are colorful and inspiring. ONE MORE KISS is a heartwarming look at falling in love and a happily ever after.

excerpt

“What if I’m already too far gone?”
“You’re not,” she replied softly. “You’re sitting her and telling me what you see in yourself. If you were really too far gone, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.” She paused. “Now you can be whatever kind of guy you want. It’s totally up to you.”
He straightened and looked her straight in the eye – his expression less angry and more pleading. “I’d like to be the kind of guy you don’t cringe away from.”
Well damn. “I didn’t cringe,” she said, going for light and teasing. She even forced herself to grin.
Rather than speak, he simply held out his hand to her again. His gaze held hers as he waited.
There wasn’t an option. Doing her best to have no reaction at all, Vivienne stood and walked toward him and placed her hand in his.
And felt more alive than she had in years.
His hand was large, his skin rough and warm. Her eyes met his and if she wasn’t mistaken, he looked just as shaken as she was. Her lips parted and she took a slow, shaky breath. Matt’s hand closed around hers and he gently tugged her down onto the sofa beside him. She sat stiffly for a moment and then – as if of one mind – they relaxed against each other. Vivienne’s head was on his shoulder, his arm around her and it felt…nice.
Natural.
Like everything she’d been waiting for.
Now what? How was she supposed to act? What was she supposed to say that didn’t come out as her begging Matt to kiss her? Touch her?
She should have stayed in the cottage and let him have his meltdown and recovery on his own. Now she was stuck here and had no way to get up and leave without it being completely obvious that she was no better than the hundreds of girls he’d been with over the years.
She visibly shivered even as the proverbial bucket of cold water was dumped on her in her mind.
“You okay?” he murmured, his voice low and gruff against her ear.
Not trusting her voice, she nodded.
They sat in somewhat companionable silence for several minutes. Vivienne’s mind wasn’t quiet for even one of them. When she noticed the sheet music out on the piano, she twisted slightly and looked up at him. “You play the piano?”
He chuckled softly and – if she wasn’t mistaken – placed a light kiss on her temple. “Sort of.”
“What does that mean?” she asked, forcing herself to laugh even though all she could think about was the fact that his lips had just touched her.
“I’ve tried it several times over the years, but while I was sitting here today doing nothing, I decided to give it a try. It was a little intimidating and I still basically suck at it, but I’m better at it than I was yesterday.”
“I was forced to take lessons for years. My mother was obsessed with me learning. I was relieved when I moved out on my own and didn’t have room for a piano in my apartment. Then Aaron went and built this house and bought one. Every time our parents come to visit I’m obligated to play a little. If I’m not mistaken, that’s their old sheet music you’re using.”
“That would explain why Aaron didn’t have anything from the last decade or two.”
She chuckled. “He really didn’t even need it. I think it was just something my parents passed on to him. Lord knows I didn’t want it.”
“Sounds like you hate it.”
She shrugged. “I think hate is a strong word for it, but it’s very different when you play for pleasure and when you’re doing it because you’re expected to. I used to love to play the popular songs – I have an ear for it now and can play a lot of them without sheet music – and it used to make my mother crazy!” She couldn’t help but laugh at the memory. “Whenever she was nearby, I’d be playing Mozart or Beethoven, but as soon as she would leave I would break into some N’Sync or Backstreet Boys.”
“Ugh! Not the boy bands!” he cried in mock disgust.
“What can I say?” she said, unable to control her laughter. “It’s the music I was listening to!”
“Please tell me you don’t still listen to it?” he begged. “If you could sit down and play anything right now, what would you play?’
“Oh…don’t do that…”
“Why not?”
“Because now I feel like I’m under the microscope. Like you’re going to criticize my choice in music – especially if I pick something that’s not one of your songs or something.”
Matt pulled back and shifted so they were fully facing one another. She immediately missed the heat of his body pressed up against hers.
“No pressure. Just honesty. I’m genuinely curious. If no one was here, what would you play?”
“Classic Elton John,” she said without hesitation. “I love his music. All of it. But his earlier stuff is my favorite.”
“I was working on one of his songs earlier, and I have to admit, it didn’t sound half bad.”
“Prove it,” she challenged, a grin on her face and a twinkle in her eye.
“No way,” he replied, shaking his head. “That’s not fair.”
“How is it not fair? You’re a musician. You play music in front of tens of thousands of people all the time. Why can’t you play one song on the piano for me?”
“Because I barely know how to play it.” Then he stopped, and Vivienne did not like the look on his face. Matt stood and held out his hand to her again. “Play it with me.” His voice was so soft as was his expression and, this time, she fit her hand into his without hesitation.
Together they sat on the piano bench and Matt set up the sheet music and started to play.
Only…he couldn’t.
At least, it’s how it seemed to Vivienne.
