Review:

The Best of Me by Sharon Sala is the 13th and final book in her wonderful Blessings, Georgia series. As I have noted many times, I am a big fan of this series, as it is always wonderful to return to Blessings, Georgia and the fabulous townsfolk we get to spend time with.  The Best of Me is a different kind of story, which was an emotional and wonderful read; especially since this was the finale.  Ruby and Peanut are the main characters in this book (they had their own story early on), and it was so fitting for them to have their unexpected wish to complete this series.

The story starts with a woman and her 8-year-old daughter getting off of a Greyhound bus and walk into the Blessings Police station. The mother tells the officer to call Ruby Dye, and when Lon (the police chief) calls Peanut to bring Ruby, the mother’s heart gives out before they come; the daughter, Carlie was very aware that her mom was dying, as she had been trying to take care of her during the last few months. When Ruby arrives and reads the letter the woman left, she learns that the mother was an old friend, and she wanted Ruby to become Carlie’s legal guardian.

Ruby and Peanut have been happily married, even though she can not have children of her own. They are the perfect people to take care of Carlie, who fulfill their wish; making this such a heartwarming story.  Ruby and Peanut have so much love to give, knowing how hard it was for Carlie, but their devotion to her was amazing, as in time she flourished.

As is her normal, Sala also gives us a second story revolving around Ladd and Deborah, who were childhood friends, with both meeting again. Ladd ran his cattle ranch, after the death of his mother; and to his surprise, Deborah returns home to help her mom, after the death of her father.  It is Deborah, who will rescue Ladd, after being seriously hurt by a bull attack.  It was a nice sweet romance, as they both realized they still had feelings for each other, and together they would find a way to combine both ranches.  This was a fun addition to the overall story.

It is always a joy to meet up with many others we have met before.  I did enjoy the friendship between Carlie and Melvin Lee, who took it upon himself to protect her and be her first friend.  Cute. The added addition of Carlie being bullied by another girl, was very well done, and ended nicely.

What follows is wonderful heartwarming, emotional and uplifting story, with a couple we have loved from the start, wonderful secondary characters, and a wish come true with the addition of Carlie.  I love returning to Blessings, which is a wonderful community who takes care of their own. Sharon Sala writes another delightful story in this wonderful small town, with great couples that we care about with each and every book.  Blessings, Georgia always gives the vibe of a perfect place you would love to live in.

The Best of Me was a fantastic ending to this series, and I will miss all the wonderful characters that were recurring throughout.  If you enjoy a pure romance, wonderful characters, great couples, and a small-town atmosphere, then you should be reading this series. Thank you, Sharon Sala for giving us so many wonderful stories.

The whole town has come together to help his uncle after a disaster nearly destroyed the family business. Being back in Blessings reminds Wade of everything he’s been missing, especially when he runs into his old flame, Birdie Knox.

Bridgette “Birdie” Knox isn’t so eager to jump into the holiday season. Every year, she’s reminded of the secrets that tore her family apart. But with Wade Montgomery back in town, Birdie is starting to believe in Christmas magic. There’s no guarantee Wade will stick around, but if Birdie had her wish, she’d never have to say goodbye to him again.

Review:

The Christmas Wish by Sharon Sala is the 12th book in her sweet fun Blessings, Georgia series; though this is her first holiday romance taking place in Blessings.  As I have said in previous reviews of this series, I always enjoy coming back to Blessings, Georgia and the fabulous townsfolk we get to spend time with. Once again, Sharon Sala gives us another wonderful feel-good romance, with a holiday feel.

We meet our hero, Wade Montgomery, who has returned to Blessings to help manage his Uncle’s feed store.  Wade has always had a crush on Bridgette Knox (Birdie – our heroine) since he was a kid, and now being in Blessings for 6 months, he decides to approach her why she ignores him.  Birdie, is the bookkeeper, for the feed store, and well-liked by everyone. When Wade tells her his feelings, he is surprised that she feels the same way as him, and a sweet wonderful romance begins.

This is the first time in this series that Sala has made this about the Christmas season, which shows second chances and miracles in our wonderful Blessings.  Though Wade and Birdie were fantastic lead characters, which was beautiful to watch them fall deeper in love, there are a number of other characters who play a part in this book.

A young man, returns to Blessings, 10 years later, when he discovers his father was accused of stealing expensive jewelry, and sent to prison.  Duff, the young man, who did not know why his father was sent to prison, realizes that he was the one responsible.  He was 6 years old, and loved to play as a pirate, with treasure; unbeknownst to everyone, he buried the treasure playing a game, and totally forgot. Though he is only 16 years old, he leaves his mother and brother to go to Blessings.  This was a fun and heartwarming story, as he tells the lawyer and police about the treasure, and together they will right a terrible wrong.   Very well done.

One family falls apart, when the husband steals from his workplace to pay off gambling debts, and his family leaves him.  We get to see Elliot (older man who always helps) come to the rescue, paying off the debts, giving him a new job and eventually bringing his family back.

What follows is wonderful heartwarming & emotional story, with a great couple, wonderful characters that we keep meeting in all our visits to Blessings.  I love returning to Blessings, which is a wonderful community who takes care of their own. We should all be blessed with living in Blessings.  I will add that I thought the constant going back and forth between the characters was a bit much, and a little confusing.  But overall, still a wonderful story.  I loved Wade and Birdie, who were so great together and very sweet and sexy.

Sharon Sala writes another delightful story in this wonderful small town, and great couples that we care about with each and every book.  Blessings, Georgia always gives the vibe of a perfect place you would love to live in.  If you enjoy a pure romance, wonderful characters, great couples, and a small-town atmosphere, then you should be reading this series. The Christmas Wish was a wonderful read, written so very well by Sharon Sala.

Review:

Somebody to Love by Sharon Sala is the 11th book in her wonderful Blessings, Georgia series. As I have said in previous reviews of this series, I always enjoy coming back to Blessings, Georgia and the fabulous townsfolk we get to spend time with. Once again, Sharon Sala gives us another wonderful feel-good romance and a great couple

Hunt Knox, our hero, returns home 15 years after he left Blessings and his family. Hunt had planned to go to college, working part time jobs to save $8000, which was stolen from him, with his father/siblings not revealing who stole the money.  He joined the army and currently works as a chopper pilot for an oil company in Houston.  When he receives a request from his dying mom to return home, he accepts her deathbed wish for him to fix up the old house, after which he can take $8000 up front, and he and the rest of the siblings can split the rest of the profits. Hunt tries not to deal with his 4 siblings (except the youngest, Birdie, who was too young at the time of the robbery), as they still will not reveal the truths.

Ava Ridley, was very young when Hunt left, and though he was much older, she crushed on him even then.  Ava is an ER nurse, and is well liked a by everyone.  She befriends Hunt and in a short time they both start falling for each other; with Hunt realizing that Ava is the women for him, but will she leave Blessings and move to Houston when he returns.

Slowly despite his determination to do the renovation, he slowly begins to accept his family again; and in time the truth will be revealed; which puts a different aspect to what happened.  Learning the truths will bring Hunt and his family together. The chemistry between Hunt and Ava was wonderful, as they made a great couple.  Along the way, there are a number of events that happens causing drama and heartbreak, that puts both Hunt and Ava right in the middle, and with other members of Blessings, and it is always fun to see how the town bonds together to help.

What follows is wonderful heartwarming & emotional story, with a great couple, wonderful characters that we keep meeting in all our visits to Blessings.  I love returning to Blessings, which is a wonderful community who takes care of their own. We should all be blessed with living in Blessings.

Review:

Once in a Blue Moon by Sharon Sala is the 10th book in her wonderful Blessings, Georgia series. I am a big fan of this series, as it is always wonderful to return to Blessings, Georgia and the fabulous townsfolk we get to spend time with.

We meet our heroine, Cathy Terry, as she is on the run from her abusive ex-husband, who threatens her life. She continues to move from different places often to make sure he never finds her; Cathy finds Blessings, and decides to stay in this small town for the winter.  She goes out every day for her morning run, and many residents have gotten used to her passing their stores.  One morning she twists her ankle and Duke Talbot, our hero, finds her and helps bring her to the hospital.

Duke and his brother run a ranch on the outskirts of Blessings, and is considered Mr nice guy to the residents of Blessings.  He makes sure to visit Cathy, while she is on the mend, to bring her food, as do many of the wonderful neighbors.  Cathy finds herself meeting new people and surprised how generous and nice they have been to her.

In a short time, Duke and Cathy both find themselves falling for each other. She will tell him her story of being on the run from her ex-husband and why.  Cathy is also very giving, and is always willing to help others.  This endears her to town residents, especially after a video is released showing Cathy arguing with a private investigator (her ex hired him), and mentioned that her husband was trying to find her to kill her.  The local newspaper prints the story, as well as the video and the main newspapers get hold of this story.   The ex-husband is in a bind, as everyone learns the truth, with his peers threatening him.

What follows is wonderful heartwarming & emotional story, with a great couple, wonderful characters that we keep meeting in all our visits to Blessings.  Duke and the town open their arms to Cathy, especially as she uses her money, which she had from her divorce settlement to help those in need.   Once the threat was over, it was nice to see a few chapters and epilogue of Cathy, Duke and the town bonding with each other.  I love returning to Blessings, which is a wonderful community who takes care of their own. We should all be blessed with living in Blessings.

Sharon Sala writes another delightful story in a wonderful small town, and great couples that we care about with each and every book.  Blessings, Georgia always gives the vibe of a perfect place you would love to live in.  If you enjoy a pure romance, wonderful characters, great couples, and a small-town atmosphere, then you should be reading this series. Review:

The Way Back to You by Sharon Sala is the 9th book in her wonderful Blessings, Georgia series.  As always when we return to Blessings, Georgia, Sharon Sala gives us another wonderful feel good romance and a great couple.

We meet our hero, Sully Raines, when cleaning out his deceased parents house, he discovers papers that show he is adopted.  Sully, who is a retried fireman, is determined to find his real parents, which will turn out to be a dead end each stop along the way; his last hope leads him to Blessings, Georgia.  Planning only to stay a few days in search for his elusive birth mother, Sully’s plans will change when he ends up rescuing a woman who was trapped in a car accident by a drunk driver.

Melissa, our heroine, is the woman who Sully rescues, who turns out to be his teenage sweet heart, whom neither have seen all these years. Melissa is a widow for many years, and accepts that she will never remarry; but things will change, as their romance will rebloom.  I loved Sully and Melissa together, as not only did they have great chemistry; they were tailor made for each other.  This was a beautiful romance, which was very sweet & heartwarming, but the mystery focused on who in Blessings, Georgia was Sully’s mom.  Elliot, whom we met in previous books, has the sight, and he can tell a clue to Sully to stay in Blessings, as well as provide a painting.

What follows is wonderful heartwarming & emotional story, with a great couple, wonderful characters that we keep meeting in all our visits to Blessings.   There will be a few surprises, and Sully with Melissa will find their family expanding for a wonderful happy ending.   I love returning to Blessings, which is a wonderful community who takes care of their own. We should all be blessed with living in Blessings.

Sharon Sala writes another fabulous story, and she continually amazes me that she gives us such great couples that we care about with each and every book.  If you enjoy a pure romance, wonderful characters, great couples, and a small-town atmosphere, then you should be reading this series. The Way Back to You was a wonderful read, written so very well by Sharon Sala.

Review:

A Rainbow Above Us by Sharon Sala is the 8th book in her wonderful Blessings, Georgia series. As always when we return to Blessings, Georgia, I loved this story. In A Rainbow Above Us, Sharon Sala gives us another wonderful feel good romance and a great couple.

Bowie James, our hero, returns to Blessings after many years, to help out his grandmother and aunt.  In the last book, a hurricane damaged a number of properties, and Bowie’s grandmother sent a letter to ask him for help restoring their house.   Bowie is a successful builder, and returns home with some of his workers to rebuild the house. When he arrives at the nursing home (being used as shelter to those whose homes were destroyed), and he brings his grandmother, aunt and a young girl to his huge Trailer to live until he can repair their home.

Rowan Harper, our heroine, is the young girl who has been spending time with the two older ladies, as she too lost her home, as well as having no family.  She is thrilled that the ladies insist that Rowan come with them to stay with Bowie.

Years before, Bowie and his mother left town, after the mother was raped, and the young boy was beaten.  Returning to Blessings brings Bowie face to face with the nasty Boone family, who try to chase him away; but Bowie is not little boy anymore, and stands up the family.  While the story revolves around Bowie and his family, and his slow built relationship with Rowan, there is the side story of the Boone family self-destructing.  Cora Boone, the matriarch, takes one look at Bowie, and realizes that he is her grandson, and she had been lied to all those years.   She will take matters in her own hands to disown her entire family; especially her husband, Jud, who has always been a bully.

As Bowie and his team begin their repairs, he enjoys the time he is spending with his family, and feelings he is beginning to have for the sweet beautiful Rowan.  The small town of Blessings begins to snub the Boone’s, especially after Jud loses his temper attempting to hurt his wife and then Bowie.  Life will change rightfully so for the Boones, as the town turns on them, but Cora will stand tall.

What follows is a fast-paced, heartwarming story in a small town ravaged by a hurricane, with wonderful characters that we keep meeting in all our visits to Blessings.   It is also a story of two families so different; one filled with love and the other filled with hatred.  I really loved the building relationship between Rowan and Bowie, as they made a wonderful sweet couple.

Sharon Sala writes another fabulous story, and she continually amazes me that she gives us such great couples that we care about with each and every book.  If you enjoy a pure romance, wonderful characters, great couples, and a small town atmosphere, then you should be reading this series. A Rainbow Above Us was a wonderful read, written so very well by Sharon Sala.

Review:

Forever My Hero by Sharon Sala is the 7th book in her Blessings, Georgia series.    Having read all the books in this series, I looked forward to reading this book, and to no surprise, I loved it. Sharon Sala always gives us wonderful feel good romances and a sweet couple we root hard for.

Alice Conroy, our heroine, has had a rough time, especially when she first moved to Blessings, Georgia with her two children, Charlie and Patty.  Her husband was killed in an explosion making meth, and his family tossed her and the children out in Blessings, with no financial help.  Alice has since found a home, and now works at the hardware store, and the children go to the local school.

Dan Amos, our hero, moved to Blessings, after his wife and child were killed in a car explosion meant for him, as Dan was a prosecuting attorney at that time.  He now oversees rental properties, ensuring people are taken care of.  Since he does handyman work, he visits the hardware store where Alice works often.  In a short time they will become friends, especially after Alice injures her hand, and Dan is the one who takes her to the hospital.  When Alice’s daughter, Patty gets hurt while on a school outing, Dan is the hero, saving Patty, as well as the Conroy’s dog.  This continues to push them closer, as they have a similar tragic history.  When Alice learns the Patty was being bullied, she steps up to protect her daughter, and when the other children’s family comes to apologize, it is Dan who stands up to them about bullying and the threats if they do not deal with this situation with their children.

With a major hurricane about to hit the entire town of Blessings, Dan makes sure that Alice, the children and another local resident move to his properties, which is safer and has a generator.  It was fun to watch Dan and Alice falling hard for each other, and both getting past the tragedies that followed them to Blessings.

What follows is a heartwarming & emotional story that touched our hearts on many levels. I loved Dan, who was a wonderful, sweet, loving and understanding man, as well as being wonderful with the children. It was a joy to see them have a second chance at love in Blessings, Georgia.

Sharon Sala writes another fabulous story that had us hooked from the start.  She amazes me that she continually gives us such great couples that we become invested in, with each and every book.  Forever My Hero was a sweet romance, with a great couple, wonderful secondary characters that we love.   If you enjoy a pure romance, wonderful characters, great couples, and a small town atmosphere, then you should be reading this series. Review:

Come Back to Me by Sharon Sala is the 6th book in her wonderful Blessings, Georgia series.  Having read all the books in this series, I looked forward to reading this book, and to no surprise, I really enjoyed it. Sharon Sala always gives us wonderful feel good romances and a sweet couple we root hard for.

The story starts 20 years in the past, when teenage sweethearts were broken up by tragedy.  Aidan Payne and Phoebe Ritter were in love, and planned to spend the rest of their lives together, even though they were only 19, they were meant for each other. Then a tragic fire destroys Aidan’s father’s business and Phoebe’s father was killed in the fire.  Phoebe’s family accused Aidan’s father of setting the fire to get the insurance money to help pay for his wife’s (Aidan’s mom) cancer treatments.  Feeling betrayed that the town believed those rumors, the family moved away, with Aidan unable to accept that Phoebe broke up with him due to pressure from her family.

Now twenty years later, Aidan, who owns a successful restaurant in New Orleans and returns to Blessings to handle his grandfather’s estate.  He quickly notices Phoebe, and sees her with a young boy, whom he figures is her son.  Thinking that she married during those 20 years, Aidan will be shocked to find out the Phoebe never married, and had a difficult time during those years, having been abandoned by her mother and uncle. It was Aidan’s grandfather, and the town of Blessings who helped Phoebe and her son, Lee to make a good life.  The biggest shock was when Aidan learned that Lee was his son.

What follows is a heartwarming & emotional story that touched our hearts on many levels. Phoebe at first was determined to ignore Aidan, but at the same time allow him to become closer to Lee.  I loved Lee, as he was such a sweet, loving and understanding young man, who wanted to push his mom and dad back together.  In a short time, Phoebe and Aidan will realize that they never stopped loving each other, and it was a joy to see them begin their second chance at love.  There was a side story that will touch base on who truly started the fire, and the resolution.  I loved Phoebe, Aidan and Lee, as they were so wonderful together.  Very heartwarming.

Sharon Sala writes another fabulous story that had us hooked from the start.  She amazes me that she continually gives us such great couples that we become invested in, with each and every book.  Come Back to Me was a sweet romance, with a lovable couple, wonderful secondary characters that we came to love.   If you enjoy a pure romance, wonderful characters, great couples, and a small town atmosphere, then you should be reading this series. Come Back to Me was a wonderful read, written so very well by Sharon Sala.

Seeing the porch light on as she pulled up to the house was just like old times. He’d done that since he’d been old enough to stay home alone, and she’d missed it. She grabbed her things, ran up the steps, and let herself into the house.
“I’m home,” she yelled.
“Me, too,” he yelled back.
She laughed. Just like old times. She left her purse on a table as she hurried into the kitchen, and found Lee at the stove, heating up food.
He gave her a big hug.
“I waited for you,” he said. “Go change and get comfy. I’ll set the table while you’re gone.”
“Wonderful!” Phoebe said, and hurried down the hall to her room.
She changed out of work clothes into a pair of shorts and an old t-shirt, and changed work shoes for sandals, washed up and hurried back to the kitchen.
“You cooked,” she said, eyeing the table and the inviting food.
“I just added some baked beans and fries to the ribs and slaw. Sit, Mom. Let me wait on you tonight.”
“I won’t argue,” Phoebe said, and smiled at him when he brought glasses of sweet iced tea to the table, followed by the food.
After filling their plates, they began to talk as they ate.
“My grade point for the year is 4.0 and I was accepted into an accelerated Physics program next semester,” Lee said.
Phoebe beamed. “Oh, Lee, congratulations. I’m so proud of you. I know you didn’t get that from me.”
Lee took a deep breath. “Did I get it from my father?”
Phoebe’s smile slipped a little. The sorrow she lived with was once again, evident on her face.
“Yes. He was very smart.”
Lee ate a few more bites, then took his phone from his pocket, pulled up the picture, and pushed it toward her.
Phoebe smiled. “A new girlfriend?”
He shook his head, then waited as she looked down.
Her fork clattered onto the table. She pressed a hand over her mouth, but it didn’t muffle the moan.
He grabbed her arm. “Mom. Are you okay?”
“Where did you…oh my God. That’s the store parking lot.”
She looked up. “You took this today.”
He nodded. “I saw him by accident. Wasn’t for sure, so I took a picture, then came home and compared it to yours. He’s older, but it’s him, isn’t it, Mom? That’s my father.”
She nodded, then started to cry.

Across town, Aidan was already asleep, more at ease in this old house in Blessings, than he was in his New Orleans home, sleeping with the best security system money could buy. But there was no way to control where sleep took him, or enough locks on a door to keep Phoebe out of his dreams.
