Phoenix Seller doesn’t do relationships, doesn’t date but his heart has been set on Skyla Harrell since they met in high school. Phoenix Seller grew up in the foster care system, a system that let him down too many times. Believing himself unworthy, Phoenix keeps his distance but Skyla tends to place herself in the direct line of fire, and Phoenix finds himself rescuing our heroine at every turn. Skyla is a serial dater but a woman who picks the wrong kind of man. Assaulted and attacked on more than one occasion, Skyla struggles with her attraction to Phoenix, a man she doesn’t trust, and he in return. We are reintroduced to Reese’s brother Rhett and Christine (Caging Dyer), attorney and underground fighter Kai Yang (Facing Kai), as well as Reese’s sister Reyna, fighters Karter and Phoenix, community centre manager Lucas; at risk youth including Benny; boxer Niko, shady promoter Ezra as well as several other promoters and agents. Phoenix’s story line is next.

FINDING REESE is a story of betrayal and vengeance, power and control, secrets and lies, misunderstanding and forgiveness, acceptance and love. The fast paced premise is engaging and exciting; the romance is steamy and provocative; the characters are struggling, broken, determined and dynamic.

Christina must come clean to verify Rhett’s alibi but revealing the truth mean revealing her relationship with our story line hero.

We are introduced to Rhett’s coach Corey Bright, his son Travis, as well as Rhett’s brother Reese.

CAGING DYER is a very quick read; a fast paced story of insta-lust to love; an erotic and steamy forbidden romance with limited character development as the story line covers a few days in the life. The premise is entertaining; the characters are charismatic and fun.

REVIEW: HEATED CARESS is the second instalment in EC Land’s contemporary, adult DE LUCA CRIME FAMILY dark, erotic, Mafia romance series. This is Christian Bandoni, and Mia De Luca’s story line. HEATED CARESS can be read as a stand alone but for back story and cohesion, I recommend reading the series in order including the prequel novella FROZEN VALENTINE.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Mia and Christian) HEATED CARESS follows in the wake of threats against our story line heroine. Mia De Luca runs the Hellfire Dance Club in MC territory, and ensures there are no drugs or $ex on the property but when one of her employees finds herself a victim of assault, Mia goes in search of the person responsible but all is not well as Mia’s recent past is threatening our story heroine, a past that has left Mia scarred both inside and out. With Christian refusing to leave her side, Mia battles between head and heart knowing our hero’s reputation with the women in his life. Told from dual first person perspectives (Theo and Blake) FROZEN KISS follows the building relationship between Theo De Luca, and Blake Bandoni. Weeks earlier Blake Bandoni found herself the victim of a potential abduction but Theo De Luca protected and rescued the woman with whom he would fall in love. Searching for a traitor in the De Luca organization, Theo, along with Blake’s brother Christian, and his cousin Leo De Luca, call in the perfect foil, a witch of a woman Theo used to date but all does not go according to plan when the discovery of a rat reveals more than one player in the game. With Blake and Theo’s cousin Mia, the easier targets, the enemy strikes, in an attempt to take down the De Luca crime family, one player at a time. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Theo and Blake, and the fall-out when betrayal comes from the top.

The relationship between Theo and Blake struggles in the face of Blake’s lack of self worth, and low self esteem. Theo doesn’t do relationships; considers his heart ‘frozen’ to love and a happily ever after but threats against Blake push Theo to take a stand, claiming the woman that calls to his heart. There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Blake’s brother Christian, and their parents; Theo’s cousins Leo and Mia, as well as several low level members of the De Luca Crime Family; Blake’s ex Ethan, and Theo’s ex Gillian. The requisite evil has many faces.

FROZEN KISS is a graphic story of betrayal and vengeance, power and control, death and destruction, obsession and violence. The premise is dark, gritty and heart breaking; the romance is seductive; the characters are dynamic, determined and dangerous.

As I stated above, I recommend reading FROZEN VALENTINE (see link below) before venturing into FROZEN KISS.

There are scenes of bondage, discipline, Dominance and submission but the emotion of love is limited.

The secondary and supporting characters include Elijah’s sister Ashleigh, as well as their brother Damiano; Aspen’s ex Cole, and several clients and customers at the Sinner owned clubs.

BREATHING IN SIN is a fast paced, quick read story of insta-lust to love. The character driven premise is entertaining and spicy; the romance is seductive-the chemistry is heavy and hot; the characters are animated. BREATHING IN SIN covers but a few days in the life-the epilogue fast forwards the story line approximately six months.
