I signed on the dotted line. A marriage contract to seal my union with the devil.

I thought I knew what I was doing. His money and name were mine for the taking. But Camden Percy always gets exactly what he wants. And what he wants is me—my body, my obedience, my surrender.

He wants to break me.

But I’m Katherine Van Pelt. I’ll never break. I’ll never beg. I’ll never give in.

Except I promised him one more thing—a baby. A Percy heir.

There’s no way out of this one. Either I comply or lose everything. Do I risk the husband I’m just learning to love or is this my breaking season?

REVIEW:THE BREAKING SEASON  aka CRUEL MARRIAGE is the third instalment in KA Linde’s contemporary, adult SEASONS erotic, romances series focusing on a group of connected, powerful and well-to-do friends in the Upper East Side of New York City.. This is businessman Camden Percy, and socialite Katherine Van Pelt’s story line. THE BREAKING SEASON can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order as their story has been building for several instalments. SEASONS is a spin off from the author’s CRUEL Trilogy where we are first introduced to the players and manipulators of the rich and powerful on the Upper East Side.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Camden and Katherine) THE BREAKING SEASON follows the acrimonious relationship between businessman Camden Percy, and socialite Katherine Van Pelt. Camden Percy and Katherine Van Pelt are a married couple. Katherine’s father destroyed his family, and in the ensuing aftermath Camden offered Katherine a contract to save face, and prevent the family from falling from disgrace but Katherine’s struggling relationship with Camden is fraught with anger, miscommunication, jealousy, and perceived betrayal including the possibility of infidelity in body and heart. With their one year anniversary on the horizon, Camden demands Katherine honor the terms of their contract but not all is well in Katherine’s life. As Camden continues to do battle with his father at work, Katherine’s emotional and physical health slowly spirals out of control. What ensues is the tempestuous and heart breaking relationship between Camden and Katherine, and the potential fall-out as the sins of the father begin to pull Camden under, and Katherine struggles with issues of control.

Katherine and Camden’s marriage of convenience is a bone of contention between one another and their friends. Katherine has been miserable since her father’s destruction of the family’s finances, and Camden’s love for Katherine is masked by the anger and frustrations of a man who refuses to give in or give up. The bitter altercations and accusations are heart breaking and painful. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and familiar secondary and supporting characters including all of the previous story line couples: Sam and Larkin (The Lying Season), Anna English and Court Kensington (The Hating Season) , Penn Kensington and his wife Natalie ; Whitley Bowen, Gavin King, Robert Dawson, : Camden’s sisters Candice and Harmony, and their father Carlyle, as well as Katherine’s mother, and Camden’s ex Fiona.

THE BREAKING SEASON (Cruel Marriage) is an intense story of family, friendships, betrayal and trust. The emotional premise is edgy ; the characters are wounded, sassy, spirited and lost; the romance is provocative seductive yet tender.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date April 28, 2020

Court Kensington is a thorn in my side.

I’m hired to clean up his badboy image, which would’ve been easy if my life wasn’t falling apart.

First, I catch my movie star husband having an affair with his co-star. Then when I return to work, my job is at stake, because Court has gotten himself into trouble…again.

Instead of getting him back in line, I find myself falling for his charm. And into his bed. And against the wall. And, and, and…

Except Kensington charm shouldn’t work on me. Not when I’ve sworn to never ever sleep with a client.

I had good intentions.
I really did.
But we all know the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

REVIEW:THE HATING SEASON (Cruel Desire) is the second full-length instalment in K.A. Linde’s contemporary adult SEASONS erotic, romance series focusing on a group of connected, powerful and well-to-do friends in the Upper East Side of New York City. This is publicist / fixer Anna English (who prefers to go by English), and bad boy/heir to the Kensington dynasty Court Kensington. THE HATING SEASON can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and history. Court Kensington’s story begins in The Lying Season.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Court and English) THE HATING SEASON follows in the aftermath of a public relations nightmare wherein Court Kensington’s ex-girlfriend has been accused and arrested in a multi-million dollar fraud scheme just weeks prior to Court’s mother’s run for political office. In an effort to clean up Court’s reputation, and redirect his involvement with the financial fraud, Mayor Leslie Kensington hires LA publicist Anna English to keep her wayward son out of trouble. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between English and Court, and the fall-out as issues of trust, and a second betrayal push English out of Court Kensington’s life.

Anna English knows heart break and betrayal first hand but never expected to rebound with her most recent client. Court Kensington struggles both personally and professionally in the wake of his more recent scandal but ‘working’ with Anna English is no longer a black and white issue but slowly blurring the lines of why she was hired.

The relationship between English and Court begins as a business arrangement, an arrangement of which Court wants no part. He doesn’t need a babysitter or a professional make-over but something about English draws Court like a moth to a flame, a flame that is about to burn out and spiral. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including Larkin and Sam (The Lying Season), Gavin King, Camden Percy and his wife Katherine Van Pelt, and Whitley Bowen. WE are introduced to socialite Poppy Arlington, billionaire Robert Dawson, English’s sister Taylor, her father Joe and step-mother Ashley, as well as English’s ex- husband Josh.

THE HATING SEASON is a story of family , friendships, betrayal and heart break. The fast paced premise is entertaining, inviting and engaging; the characters are energetic, animated and sassy; the romance is seductive, provocative and captivating. THE HATING SEASON is a wonderful, dramatic and intense look at the powerful elite, and the fall-out of too much, too soon.
