REVIEW: SWEETEST SURRENDER is the third instalment in Katie Reus’s –The Serafina: Sin City contemporary, romantic, suspense series focusing on the men and woman who work and live at the luxury Las Vegas casino The Serafina. Although this is the third book in the series, it can be read as a stand-alone without too much difficulty. This is Angel and Vadim’s story.

Angel has been on the run for two years trying to escape a dark and dangerous past. Working as a waitress at The Serafina’s Cloud 9 restaurant, Angel believes herself to be safe. With few friends and no family, Angel’s true identity and her past had been hidden deep within the anonymity of a fake id. But Angel’s past would soon catch up and begin to affect the people that she has grown to love.

Vadim works high tech security for The Serafina and has been attracted to Angel since the day they met. Five months have passed and his attraction has grown deeper. With Angel’s life in danger, Vadim offers up his house-thus keeping Angel safe and close enough to spark the embers of growing love. It is only a matter of time before friendship turns to love but not before perceived betrayal threaten to push the couple apart.

SWEETEST SURRENDER is a friends to lovers storyline that focuses on the growing relationship between Vadim and Angel as well as the truth behind Angel’s secret life. Written from third person POV reflecting both Angel and Vadim’s side of the story, the world building continues from the previous books with the inclusion of former storyline characters and the familiarity of The Serafina. Angel and Vadim are mature, well rounded characters who fight their mutual attraction but, in the end, know that their HEA will come from the love they have for one another. The characters are likeable; the storyline and series are both captivating and addicting.

Katie Reus knows how to pull the reader into a storyline that is intense, provocative and passionate. You become one with the characters and experience the story and drama-up close and personal.
