Review:

In Her Sights by Katie Ruggle is the 1st book in her new Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunters series. I have read all of Katie Ruggle’s Rocky Mountain series.  I was looking forward to reading this new one, and I am  happy to say I enjoyed it.

Molly Pax, our heroine, lives at home with her sisters, who all work with her as bounty hunters in their bail recovery business.  Molly is the eldest sister, and the leader of the team, making ends meet, since their mother, who does nothing but make problems for the girls, and stealing their money or car.

Molly is on a case to find a person who has escaped bail, and runs into John Carmondy, a rival bounty hunter and our hero.  John seems to like Molly, and would like her to join his bail business, but Molly does everything to avoid him.  When she catches the person, and goes home to her sister with much needed money, things change.  When the mother becomes involved in a robbery, puts their home as collateral to get out of jail, and goes into hiding, and steals Molly’s car;  the sisters are desperate to find her before they lose everything.

What follows is an exciting and action packed adventure where Molly is forced to work with John, on a dangerous case to find an escaped murderer on bail.  It is a case no one wants, and the man is evil and extremely impossible to catch, killing anything in his way; but they are desperate for the money they will make if they bring back the culprit.  The sisters have to split themselves, with two sisters trying to find their mother (before they lose the house) and the other two working with Molly and John to find the bad guy.

I really liked the story line, and all the characters.  I felt until half way through the book, that Molly was a bit too rude to John, as he was always pleasant and willing to help the family.  During the last half she did change and began to fall for John, who already cared deeply for Molly, despite her behavior.   The romance between them was slow built, but in the end they made a great team and couple.

In Her Sights was a very good start to the Rocky Mountain Bounty Hunter series, and I look forward to future books that will revolve around the other sisters.  Katie Ruggle once again has captured my attention with an exciting new series.  This was a fun, exciting, action packed story, with some very good characters. I suggest you read In Her Sights.

In Her Sights

Description:
Jasmine ?Jazz? Parker, Jefferson County SWAT’s only female sniper, can thread the eye of a needle with a bullet. But she carries with her a secret from her past that she thought she buried for good at the age of fifteen. Two years ago she even drove away the one man she believed she could love ? ex?Army Ranger turned reporter Luke Montgomery ? to keep her past hidden. But now, in a fleeting second, the time it takes for one clean shot, one perfect hit, to save the life of the governor’s daughter, Jazz’s world begins to crumble around her. When Luke splashes her face and name across the front page of the newspaper, a vicious enemy from her past returns seeking vengeance without compromise. Jazz is forced to turn to the one man she can never have before she and everyone she cares about pays the ultimate price. Full of explosive action and almost unbearable suspense, In Her Sights is a relentless, steamy thriller surprisingly infused with soul and poignancy.

Review:

In her Sight is a quick paced romance suspense novel by Robin Perini The story begins as the swat team has zeroed in on a kidnapper, and we meet our heroine, Jazz Parker.  Jazz is the lone female sniper on this team, and even though she is the best, she is somewhat resented by some of the men.  But mostly because Jazz keeps to herself, wanting her privacy, as she unbeknownst to them, has a secret past, which she hides.   Jazz kills the kidnapper with one shot to save the child, and is the hero, which does not last long, as she misses the next assignment, causing a team member to be hurt.

But Jazz knows she never misses, and begins to realize that someone is sabotaging her.  We meet our hero Luke Montgomery,  who was Jazz’s lover, before she dumped him.  He returns just in time to help Jazz try to find out who is trying to ruin her.  At first Jazz does not want Luke’s help, mainly because she knows she has feelings for him, but her secret past from her childhood days, causes her to back off.   Luke is an investigative reporter, which was the main reason Jazz broke up with him, as she feared he would find out about her past life.

As the story flows along nicely, we learn more and more about Jazz.  Luke tries to get her to tell him more about what she is hiding, and when things get rough, Jazz will begin to trust Luke. Jazz’s life is falling apart, being suspended from her job; threats being left for her; blamed for the death of another cop.  From the start, I really liked Jazz, as she is a tough, strong cop, who has hidden her horrific childhood, and built a life for herself.  But to protect Luke and his family, Jazz tries to pull away and solve this mystery on her own.

With danger at every turn, and Luke not letting her out of his sight, they embark on and exciting thriller, which is totally intense right to the end.  It was also a great story background with Jazz’s past that comes back to haunt herI liked Jazz and Luke, as you can feel their love, despite all the odds.  Perini does a good job keeping us hooked, as it was hard to put the book down until you finished it.  If you want a quick and fast romance suspense, I recommend In her Sights.
