REVIEW: MARNI!! Now that is just unfair!

It’s here, The Irresistible One, the fourth installment in the Weston Group series by the ever talented Marni Mann. As always, I do recommend reading a series in order to get the most out, with the Weston Group I really recommend it. Each of the main couples throughout the series leads into the next. Sophie and Colson have a love-hate relationship that rocks each other’s world.

The spice in this next addition was quick, right from page one, which lets face it, is a little different for one of M’s books, but wow what a kick off to start. Sophie and Colson share a heated threesome in a s*x club of all places, but their interactions don’t cease there. Oh no, they end up rivals on different sides of the table, and to make it even better, Sophie is a shark, one who doesn’t back down from a challenge, even if it comes in the form of Colson Weston. When these two tangle, who knows what is going to happen. Colson may be just like the rest of the Weston’s, an overly obsessive, alpha who doesn’t use the right brain to communicate, but he and Sophie have more in common than they think. Both are single parents to little girls who they have built their lives around, both have built families that love them for who they are and not what they can give them. Both have pasts that hold them back from their future…

This book felt like a slow burn, enemies to lovers, just with the slow burn being the relationship and not the sexy bit. As more of the plot unfolds we get more of Sophie’s past and it is heavy, but Colson is strong and he learns to handle her and her daughter with care. I love Colson, I have since he is introduced earlier in the series, and with Sophie, he has met his perfect match. I loved this book! I have loved this series! I am sad to see it coming to an end with the next upcoming book, however I can’t wait to get my hands on Eden’s story!!!

REVIEW:The Billionaires of Boston series continues with the next installment of the series. No, Don’t Ever Stop is Gavin and Emily’s story. As always, I do recommend reading a series in order to get the most out of it, but each book can be read as a standalone in an interconnected world.

Gavin is an ex-NFL star turned business mogul. As a single dad he spends his time taking care of his seven year old son, Ben. He’s a grump that keeps his friends close, and his son even closer, nothing matters to him more than his friends, family and business. That includes women, he’s known for his single status and makes it known to his one night stands that one night is all they get. That changes when Gavin and Emily meet. Their chemistry is off the charts, they both know they crave the other, and agree to an agreement. One night, no holds barred, no strings attached. Too bad his plans are about to change.

Emily is a caretaker for the elderly and an on-call nurse as well, both because it feeds her soul and it pays the bills. When she gets a work call to his house, she knows who he is, her best friend (Maya) is dating his brother Jordan. She knows his football past, his business and that he’s totally off limits. The guy is a player and lives his life by those rules, but after treating little Ben, they have a drink and then their agreement is made. What’s one night…right?

Oh Marni, you have done it again you wonderful, beautiful soul. Gavin and Emily were such a good read, their chemistry together was top notch. Emily’s care for little Ben and the vulnerability she shows during their moments together. She also totally made Gavin earn her, she knew her worth and knew what she wanted, she wasn’t going to settle for anything less. I have to give it to Gavin too though, for a man with total player vibes, he really gave into his emotions for Emily. He fought it at first of course, but I think he knew what she was going to be for both himself and for Ben. The moments with the three of them together were a definite favorite of mine. Another amazing book added to the list by this fantastic author.

REVIEW:Grumpy chef meets bubbly wanna be chef…a perfect match.

The Mysterious One is the next installment in The Weston Group series by Marni Mann. As always, I recommend reading a series in order to get the most out of it, but each book can be read as a standalone in the interconnected series. Characters from previous books are part of the working book so there may be spoilers, be warned now. There are some off page trigger warnings that some may find..well triggering, so check those before reading.

Walker Weston (such a hot name fyi) is a big grumpy jerk that takes himself just a little too seriously, but with the responsibilities that he has it’s no wonder he is the way he is. While he may be all these things, he is also a world renowned chef, he has five star restaurants all over the world and literally has people lining up to eat the food he prepares. The only problem? He’s miserable. His love for cooking is gone, his passion is tried up and he is just angry. When he hits an all time low, his sister Eden signs him up for Hooked Up, the dating app, at first he is against it, but the more she tells him the more he agrees that maybe a few days with a woman getting his rocks off wouldn’t be so bad. Not if the woman is Sky. Her haunting blue eyes and beauty draw him into sending her a message and waiting for a response.

Alivia Todd AKA Sky is nothing but a positive person. Dealt nothing but a shoty hand since birth, she survives her drunk, alcoholic mother and step-father who abuses her and still manages to find hope in a better future. After a particularly bad night of emotional warfare from her mother’s husband, Alivia sees the message from Whiskey35 and is surprised to see such a high percent match, 100% is rare. Even more so when she sees his picture, dark hair and beard with green eyes. She takes a chance and meets up with him. During the two days they are together their chemistry and passion run absolutely wild, neither can get enough of the other, and when their time together comes to end, neither of them want it to end. Even if they both know they can’t have more. Fast forward, Alivia starts a second job, one that pays well and that will give her the means to finally move out from under her parents thumb, she soon finds out who her new boss is. That’s right. Walker Weston, AKA Whiskey35.

What a Wammy!! Walker and Alivia were a treat to read, and I love the Weston series so much. With only one book left in the series, I’m both so thrilled and sad to see it finally releases. In parts of this book, Walker had me pulling out my hair in frustration, but in others, he was a big cuddling giant. I loved how loving he becomes as their relationship starts to grow, they each come from such different backgrounds, but they fit each other beyond well. As the book progresses and we get more and more back story from both of them, it really opens the main leads up to another level of emotional growth both in themselves and in each other. Walker needed a reminder of why he loves cooking, the passion it gives him, the joy and laughter. Alivia needed Walker’s protection and his love, not in a way that meant she was being taken care of by a man, but the support and love she never got from her own mother. I ADORED Walker’s cooking metaphor for their relationship, it brought out such a sweet side to him. Overall all really, really enjoyed the book and can’t wait to see how the series finishes out.

REVIEW:What a way to kick off a new series! AMTY is the first in what I hope is a length series by Marni Mann. This fast paced meet cute romance has a twist to it that is bound to keep readers reaching for the next page.

Jordan is a retired hockey player turned CEO billionaire. He doesn’t date and tends to lead with his alpha personality, a reformed playboy who has made his job his life now. His life is meetings and paperwork, normally quite boring, all but his mornings. His morning run however, might just be the highlight of his day, not to mention the same women he sees during it. Maya is a nurse, she’s independent and doesn’t take crap from anyone. She too enjoys a good morning run, and the hot guy she sees while working up a sweat.

Jordan and Maya are two very different people, but enjoy the same run each morning, this leads them to stolen glances, shy smiles and flirty grins, until finally the universe leads them to their official meet. Jordan is determined to win Maya over, even with his limited amount of dating experience, the chemistry between them is undeniable. The only catch? Maya can’t stand rich people, and well that is exactly what Jordan is, determined to win her heart, Jordan keeps much of himself hidden from Maya. And we all know how the truth always ends up coming out.

Oh this was such a good read. As a long time fan of Marni, she always delivers with her characters and stories, even her side characters like Bettie. Maya has reasons for why she dislikes the rich and it plays a part in her and Jordan’s relationship. When everything came to light, I was eager to see how Jordan was going to respond. Overall, I am very pleased with the plot of the story and the HEA that the characters get. I so hope that Emily will get her own story, I can only imagine what kinda chaos that is going to be.

REVIEW: The Wildest One is such a perfect title for Beck and Jolie’s second chance at love. As book two in the Weston Group series, the book itself can be read as a standalone, but as always, to get the most out of the series, I recommend reading them in order.

Jolie is halfway through her college degree and back in her hometown for a small break, during this time she stops for a drink with a friend after a big hockey game, one that “her” team if you will, loses. Thinking of nothing but having a good time with her friend, and enjoying her time away from school for once, Jolie is surprised when she is hit on by none other than the captain of the winning hockey team. Beck seems larger than life, and not at all like the basic hockey man-ho that the world makes him out to be. Their chemistry sparks between them, leading Jolie to agree to spend the weekend with him. Three days of all out, no strings attached, fun time, neither of them are in a place where they want more, but the connection they have is one neither of them can deny.

When Beck sets eyes on Jolie with her red hair and bright smile, he’s smitten and he knows it, only hang up? She’s wearing their rival’s team jersey, not that that stops him from making his move on her. Getting Jolie to spend the three day weekend with him feels better than winning the game that night, but alas when the weekend ends, his thoughts and feelings for her don’t. Now three years later, their paths intertwine again, and this time he’s not letting her get away.

There are many things I can say about Ms. Author, but what she can do with her books is just top-notch. At first I was a little unsure with Jolie and Beck, I wasn’t feeling the chemistry with them, but when they met up again after a few years, I was happily proven wrong. As per her usual writing style, Ms. Author serves up some angst and struggle for her characters, making them work for their HEA, but even with that, the read was very enjoyable. The characters were fun and engaging, the plot easy to follow but interesting enough to keep the reader wanting more. I loved how stubborn Beck was in his pursuit of Jolie, and Jolie sticking to her guns and being the “typical” hockey fan, together they are just a kick in the pants to read. The Weston series has more to come I’m sure, and I can’t wait to sink my teeth into it.

The Arrogant one is the first installment in the Weston Group series, this is a billionaire romance without trigger warnings.

Hart Weston is one for five siblings (here is hoping we get a book for each) his family runs The Weston Group, they have everything from clubs to restaurants, making them more than rich, they are the one percent. Coming from all that, of course the man is going to be a hot headed playboy, he has one-night stands like most people clock in for work. He makes it clear to his dates that he doesn’t do relationships, they know going in what they are in for.

Sadie Spencer is a hometown girl, she loves good food and good people. Turning her passion for food into an influencer on social media, she remains anonymous but honest in her reviews of restaurants. She is also a hopeless romantic, not wasting her time on those that don’t want forever, she knows what she wants and she won’t settle for anything less. She wants the fairy tail happily ever after, even if it means she has to wait a little longer to get it.

When Sadie and Hart meet by chance, their chemistry is out of this world. Neither want their time together to end, so they share a heated 🔥🔥 night together, both knowing that one single night will never be enough. Hart falls hard and fast for Sadie and can’t get her out of his head the next day, wanting more from her. This both surprises him and lights a fire in his blood. Hart isn’t a guy that does forever, or at least he never thought he would be, but with Sadie…she makes him want more, crave more, desire more. Without knowing who the other person is, they embark on a fast paced, drama filled, spicy journey that leaves them both wanting more and more of each other.

Oooooweee! I consumed this, every word, and some chapters more than once if you know what I mean 👀. If you haven’t read this author before, give her ago, you won’t be disappointed. The Arrogant One is a passion filled romance filled with drama, funny banter, and a MMC that every romance reader is sure to love. Hart and Sadie were a fantastic way to start a new series, and I so very much hope to see the rest of the Weston bunch get books as well.

REVIEW:If you’re looking to finish out the 2024 year with a ugly cry book, you have come to the right place for it. The One by Marni Mann is book five in the Spade Hotel series. It is definitely recommended to read the series in order, there are many details and characters that are present that I think are important when reading the newest installment. However, the books can be read as standalone if you really want to.

It is FINALLY Rhett’s turn. So much of this series shows Rhett as the cold, heartless, villain, never willing to do anything for anyone, always looking out for himself. Well now we have the other side to that story, and what a story it is. To tell that story we have to go back fifteen years ago.

Rhett and Lainey are high school sweethearts, they are young, they are naive, and they are so, so in love. When the unthinkable happens, and tears our two love birds apart, Lainey gets lost in her grief and leaves, off to get lost in the world, severing all contact with Rhett. The pair unravel without each other, it is heartbreaking to see.

Fast forward to the present, Rhett is a grumpy, cold, complicated man who prefers his own company over any other. While Lainey is living with more and more grief everyday. This couple is the definition of living without part of your soul. Their story revolves around their separation, the heartbreak and grief that came from that, the trauma they endured and the loneliness they both have suffered. Rhett’s guilt and Laney’s grief are without a doubt some of the strongest emotions I have experienced from a book before.

When these two finally come back together for the first time in nearly two decades, the tension is palpable. Rhett has to lean into his vulnerability and really show Lainey what he is feeling, and Lainey has to let down her shields that she had spent so long holding up.

I really have to give Marni credit for her ability to write such intense and deep rooted characters, Rhett and Lainey are an amazing combination of pain, hope, forgiveness and passion.

REVIEW: Heartbreaker is the fourth installment in the Spade hotel series by the ever brilliant Marni Mann. As most of the other books in the series are the same, HB is a single bad, age gap,billionaire romance, each book in the series can be read as a standalone, but as I always recommend, reading the series in order gives a much better feel for the character and the plot.

In typical Marni fashion Ridge and Addison meet in a not so normal way, AKA a strip club, so of course Ridge wants to get to know her better. They meet, they converse, they get it on in a hot and sweaty night of passion. Ridge waits for Addison to contact him, but she never does. Poor Addison isn’t one for hookups, let alone strip club hook ups, to say she is mortified is an understatement so she does the last thing she can think of, she ghosts him. After all, being a dancer isn’t bad, but she has her reasons for being so, reasons that she doesn’t want to share.

The plot twist on this one, to say that Ms. Author was hiding the punch line! Low and behold, after thinking she will never see Ridge again, Addison gets a surprise in the form of being Ridge’s daughter’s teacher. Her teacher, she slept with a student’s parent. Oh that was such a kick in the pants to read. Addison and Ridge have a strong connection, and Ridge is like the perfect mixture of supportive guy and take charge guy.

I really enjoyed the story on this read, the interaction between Ridge, Daisy and Addison made some of the sweetest moments. The mix between the sweet moments and the spicy bits really made the story quick and memorable for me. Ridge went above and beyond to make himself clear to Addison that he didn’t just want her in his bed, he wanted everything with her. I really loved the big gestures he made for her, not because she needed them per se but more because HE wanted to do them for HER, he wanted her to know how much he wanted her. Heartbreaker left me smiling and ready for another happy ending.
