ABOUT THE BOOK: Release July 11, 2022

I thought I was moving on from my divorce, but now my ex is marrying someone else. I shouldn’t be this broken up, but it’s hard to put on a brave face when my family is basically an inked up Hallmark movie.

And I shouldn’t be brooding about what I don’t have, if it’s going to cause me to fall off a roof. Right into the grumpy neighbor’s burly arms.

He’d make a nice distraction, except he wants nothing to do with the burning attraction between us. Until one accidental kiss leads to more.

I’m not ready to risk my heart again, but Killian’s tortured eyes don’t seem to give me a choice. This thing between us is real.

But Killian is still trying to recover from a tragedy. And there are people who will do anything to make sure he never finds happiness again.

REVIEW:Inked Temptation is the fifth installment in the Montgomery Ink: Fort Collins series by the brilliant Carrie Ann Ryan. The book can be read as a standalone, but for avid readers I always recommend reading in series order. Inked Temptation is a male/male romance that takes us back to the Montgomery’s family.

Archer is a master plumber with the FC Montgomery Builders, and he is struggling. Archer’s life has been flipped on its head after his divorce with his ex-husband that has left his self esteem in the gutter. When his ex then announces his new engagement, that gutter feeling sinks even further. Through all of this Archer’s only thought is why he wasn’t enough and what was wrong with him. (UGH my whole soul for the man!)

Fast forward sometime and Archer begins a new project outside the FC area a bit, a cabin in the mountains that taunts him with its beauty. With nothing else to do, and no one waiting on him anymore, Archer puts his all into this outdoor sanctuary. How bad could it be right?

Wrong.

Killian is haunted by the trauma of his past, and his dog Cora and the cabin are his safe haven from the store. Peace and quiet. That’s what he wants in his life. Or at least that’s what he thought he wanted before Archer came crashing through his life.

Killian and Archer no doubt have a rocky first impression, but neither can deny the once in a lifetime spark they feel towards one another. Both Archer and Killian seem to know what the other needs the most, and willingly give it. However, life isn’t all rainbows and gumdrops, as both men know. Archer is still dealing with his self confidence and poor Killian has his own demons he needs to open up about as well.

These too are a goofy smile read for me, as a long time fan of the M/M genre, it’s so nice to see the author put so much work into the characters and not make it all be about the sexy bits. Archer and Killian are the balms each needs to heal their wounds and open their soul back up for a new love to begin. The FC Montgomery series has always been a favorite of mine and I can’t wait to see what C.A.R does next!

REVIEW: If I could live in a world like the one Carrie Ann Ryan builds, I would be a happy reader. Inked Craving is the fourth in the Montgomery Ink Fort Collins series. The book can be read as a standalone or in order of series. Like many of C.A.R books, Inked Craving is a contemporary romance that ends with a HEA, no major triggers and all smiles.

Paige is a one woman show, or at least she is now. After thinking she had found the man she was going to spend her life with, she is overjoyed at their possible future. Low and behold Colton is leaving, and he couldn’t care enough to even ask Paige to come along for the ride. A moment that Paige thought her life would change for the better, turns into one that haunts her. Fast forward a few weeks, and Paige’s life is altered even more than she thought. With what you ask?

A Baby.

A baby her ex wants nothing to do with. Paige has her family and friends around her, but is determined to make sure her child doesn’t suffer. When she gets low, the one person to bring her back to herself is Lee. Good ole Lee. Her brother’s best friend, she’s known him almost her entire life, but now things are different. Paige is hell bent on never putting herself on the line again to be hurt, and that means keeping her distance from the handsome Lee…but things don’t always go to plan and the most beautiful moments are the ones we never see coming.

I had a smile on my face the entire time I was reading this book. Paige and Lee’s relationship was fun to read and I really enjoyed how they started off friends and built from there. It was more than just a sexual thing for him, he truly cared about Paige and her baby, he was always there for her in a way that she needed him to be. Inked Craving was a pure happy read that any confidential reader would enjoy.

REVIEW: *Rubs hands together in glee*

I love when C.A.R does a MM romance, it just works for me in so many ways. 😉 Nothing but Ink is a novella that takes place in the Montgomery Ink Fort Collins series. In this quick little story we get Clay and Riggs’ adventure.

We’ve known Clay and Riggs through a few other books, but now we get their story and all the fabulousness that comes with it. Now, I didn’t know how well these two were gonna mix, but I am happy to report that I really enjoyed their story.

Clay is all about raising the kids he has, his life is busy trying to be super Dad, and poor Riggs is still carrying around all the baggage from his past. Learning about their past connection, then when they finally give in to one another made the story. You can feel their chemistry, and then they fall right into this messy, crazy relationship together. It was everything! As with all stories, of course there are some dumps and bruises along the way, but none that can stop these two from being together.

I should be wondering what the hell I was doing, yet I wasn’t going to ask that question of myself. I wasn’t going to question this. For once, I would think of myself and do what I wanted.
Damn the consequences.
“The number of thoughts running over your face right now could tell a story. Or maybe it’s a whole novel,” Riggs observed as he came to me with a glass in hand. I looked down at the golden liquid in the lowball glass, then up at him.
“Honey whiskey?”
“You know it.”
Riggs sat next to me on his couch, and I let out a hushed breath, wondering how the hell I was here. I wasn’t some young kid. I had been on dates before. I had slept with a man before.
It didn’t mean that I knew what the fuck I was doing now, though.
“Cheers.”
Riggs held up his glass, and I touched mine to his before taking a sip of my whiskey. The sweet taste slid over my tongue, and I swallowed, wondering if I should just toss the rest back.
“Don’t you dare do it like a tequila shot,” Riggs stated with a laugh.
I winced, then held back a laugh at what Riggs was referring to. The Montgomerys in Fort Collins loved their tequila and were damn good with it. “You know I like tequila as much as the next guy, but those Montgomerys sure can drink it.”
Riggs snorted. “It’s a little scary, to be honest. And none of them are assholes about it. They can do shots without lime or even making that weird face, and then let their designated driver or rideshare take them home. There’s no fighting. There’s no random backslapping or dancing on tabletops. They can handle their tequila. Just like I know you can handle your whiskey.”
Riggs took another sip of his, and I did my best not to watch his throat work as he swallowed. It was hard to think with him right there.
With me right here.
He was so close, and I still couldn’t believe I was here in his house. I wasn’t at home dealing with homework, picking up backpacks or shoes, or tucking in a kid for the evening.
When was the last time I’d had an evening just for myself?
The fact that I had to ask that told me I should have thought about it long ago.

REVIEW:Nothing reads like a Carrie Ann Ryan book. It’s like being welcomed home with a warm cozy blanket after a long cold journey. Inked Devotion takes us back to Fort Collins with the Montgomery’s in the 18th installment of the series. In the previous book, Beckett gets his happy ending, but leaves our lovely Brenna heartbroken and struggling to move on.

This is where the book starts.

Brenna is returning home for a family reunion, and uses it as a perfect time to lick her wounds from the heartbreak she is dealing with from her best friend Beckett. Just as she thinks she has the trip figured out, the biggest wrench she didn’t see coming gets thrown in her plan.

Benjamin Montgomery.

Not only is he a Montgomery, but he’s also Beckett’s twin brother. So much for getting away from her pain. Now she has to see the face of the man she loves, but can never have.

I feel for Brenna so much during this book, she wants Beckett to be happy, she knows she needs to move on. Benjamin and Brenna are funny and cute together that even while she is mourning her lost love, as a reader I was rooting for her and Ben to be together. Inked Devotion does deal with heartbreak, but also the delight in finding new love as well. A new hope in falling in love and being happy. The ending is gasping and I can’t wait to see what comes next in the series. Way to go C.A.R!

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date July 20, 2021

When men in uniform showed up on Eliza Wilder-Strong’s doorstep, she knew her life would be irrevocably altered. She not only lost her husband, but the future she’d carefully planned. A year later, she’s looking to start over—beginning with a solo healing vacation. Only she never expects to see a familiar, tempting face along the way.

Beckett Montgomery refuses to want his little sister’s best friend—especially because she’s a widow. Yet there’s no stopping the connection between them. As the temptation to give in intensifies between them, so do the reasons they shouldn’t stay together.

Painful ghosts from both of their pasts stand in their way and sometimes it’s the living that can haunt you when you’re not looking.

••••••••

REVIEW:The Montgomery’s of Fort Collins are back, and this time C.A.R has gifted us with Beckett’s story. A word of warning to readers, this book takes twist that you will not see coming, but it’s so worth the read!

Beckett has demons, ones that he’s having a very hard time dealing with. A secret from an event that happened, that no matter how he tries, he just can’t let go of. Enter in Eliza. Her life too just took a hard 180 to what she had planned. Her husband is gone, her life gone amuck and now she must learn the role as widow. There is so much to unpack with this book, and I’m not sure were to start. Eliza slowly starts to put her life back together after the loss of her husband from the military, then to again have it flipped right on it’s head again. The poor woman can’t seem to get on stable ground for some time.

Beckett and Eliza are thrown together time and again, their chemistry mounts, but no matter how ready she thinks she is to move on, life is reminding her that nothing is ever easy. My most favorite things about these two is that they started off as friends, then as things moved forward their chemistry growing, their relationship moved to the next level. Beckett and Eliza are thrown together when both their lives are for a lack of better term “hitting the fan” but they need each other to make things right, to give each other the courage to face what they need to.

I freaking love this series! I get giddy every time I pick up a new book but finishing this one gave me the best find of shivers. A pulse pounding, page turning, can’t wait to see what happens next book that if you don’t already have on your TBR you better now! Way to go C.A.R, your mind is a wonderland that I will happily subscribe to.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date February 9, 2021

The Montgomery Ink saga from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan continues with a steamy new series.

Years ago, Annabelle Montgomery married not for love but for a promise of hope. When she lost him weeks later, she told herself she never needed those sentiments again. Only when she discovers years later that her new neighbor is her late husband’s brother, Annabelle finds she can’t quite shake the emotions she’s long since buried.

Jacob Queen vowed he’d never set eyes on Annabelle again. When they’re forced into each other’s lives once more, they realize that no matter how far they run, no distance can keep them apart forever. More than ghosts lay between them, and when they finally give in to temptation, walking away whole may no longer be an option.

••••••

REVIEW:Love me a good ole enemies to lovers romance!

It’s Montgomery time again fellow readers! This time were in Fort Collins with the cousins, but that doesn’t make the Montgomery’s any less nutty *or crazy* then we are used to. This new series is kicks off with a not so blast from the past coming back to haunt Annabelle Montgomery in the form of Jacob Queen.

When a new neighbor moves in next to her, Annabelle is shocked to see a man she never thought she would see again, her former friend; Jacob has returned to his hometown.

Jacob holds a unruly amount of hate for Annabelle, thinking the worst of her. The woman who he blames for the loss of his only brother, Jacob is determined to hate her until his last breath. Annabelle, the woman who married his brother in a farce of wedding, who he thinks has ruined what little time he had left with and who his parents love just as much as their only son left.

Fate has a way of knocking one on their arse when one least expects it. When fate in the form of Jacob’s parents inform him of the error of his ways; Jacob must come to terms with the fact that Annabelle is a different person than he thought. Things become clear and their relationship changes with it, just not in a way either of them were expecting.

*Takes a sip of wine*

The Montgomery books are some of my most favorites and this one will be added to that pile. These books always revolve around family and I really enjoy reading what happens next in the lives of my favorite characters. Inked Persuasion is a salty, sweet delightful treat that will leave you with a smile when you finish the book. Five out of five stars from this long time reader!
