ABOUT THE BOOK: Release Date May 11. 2026
One night in Vegas. One drunken vow. One surprise husband. I don’t drink. I don’t date. And I definitely don’t wake up married.
Ronan Black—A.K.A the stranger in my bed—is everything I don’t need. He’s a morally bankrupt charm offensive with trouble written all over his chiseled face. I’m the good daughter, the responsible best friend, the person who never makes bad decisions.
Now, one night in Vegas just turned into a lifetime of consequences when I wake up in Ronan’s bed…with his ring on my finger. Because he wants it to stay there. Maybe even for good.
It’s a bad idea. The worst. His plan is simple: stay married long enough for him to take control of his company and for me to keep mine afloat. It’s not fake…but it’s not exactly legitimate either.
So why am I starting to think this ridiculous marriage could actually work? Ronan might be morally gray, but he’s also becoming the only man I trust. But do these strange feelings go both ways? When his corrupt world forces him to pick, will Ronan choose his billions? Or will he choose us?

REVIEW: MORALLY BLACK ELOPEMENT is the second instalment in Nicole French’s contemporary, adult MORALLY BLACK WEDDINGS erotic, romance series focusing on the rich and powerful Black Family. This is interim CEO of Blackguard Holdings Ronan Black, and Delaney ‘Laney’ Fisher’s story line. MORALLY BLACK ELOPEMENT can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as there is an ongoing premise throughout.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Ronan and Laney) MORALLY BLACK ELOPEMENT follows a bachelorette party in Las Vegas wherein Laney wakes up married to the interim CEO of Blackguard Holdings Ronan Black but all is not as it appears to be-like his brother Brendon who walked away from the family business, Ronan needs a suitable wife, and Laney finds herself facing down a family of vipers, losing herself and everything in the process.
The world building is Mafia adjacent, focusing on the building relationship that is predicated upon a secret and a lie. Ronan does not want control of Blackguard Holdings but when his brother Brendon walked away, Ronan became heir by default when the next in line, refused to take control. Meanwhile, Laney is struggle with her family owned business, and a health issue of which she can no longer afford but the Black family are determined to destroy anyone they see as not good enough, and Laney finds herself in the direct line of fire.
The relationship between Laney and Ronan begins as drunk Vegas wedding in which neither one remembers what happened or how. Ronan is determined to remain married to our story line heroine, and in doing so, forces his family to take aim at our story line couple but when secrets are revealed, Laney discovers the life into which she agreed is nothing like the life Ronan had offered. The $ex scenes are intimate and provocative.
Ronan’s siblings Brendon and his wife Simone, Owen and Shae; their controlling and manipulative father Naill Black; friend Liam Kelly; driver and security former US Navy SEAL Brady ‘Mac’ MacNamara, as well as the introduction of Laney’s father Jan Fisher, and her friend Megan.
MORALLY BLACK ELOPEMENT is a story of secrets and life, power and control, betrayal and dysfunction family relationships, forgiveness and love. The character driven premise is edgy, dramatic and sensational; the romance is passionate ; the characters determined, dynamic, and energetic.

Nicole French is a East Coast/West Coast hybrid creature, Springsteen fanatic, hopeless romantic, and total bookworm. When not writing fiction or teaching writing classes, she is hanging out with her family, playing soccer with the rest of the thirty-plus crowd in Seattle, or going on dates with her husband. In her spare time, she likes to go running with her dog, Greta, or practice the piano, but never seems to do either one of these things as much as she should.
