Told from dual first person perspectives (Hannah and Elijah) ELIJAH’S NEED picks up immediately after the events of book two, and Hannah struggles with the revelations of secrets from the man that she loves. Elijah’s past is dark, dangerous and heart breaking but it is his most recent past that refuses to let go .A night of celebration with family and friends ends in a proclamation of love, and the possibility of their own happily ever after. What ensues is the continuing romance and relationship between Hannah and Elijah, and the potential fall-out as Hannah battles between head and heart as issues of trust continue to build.

The relationship between Hannah and Elijah struggles in the face of secrets and lies, and the demons from the past that continue to circle. Elijah and Hannah are living together in an effort to protect Hannah from her own dangerous past but living together means up close and personal with one another’s foibles and furies. Elijah is desperately in love with a woman who has the capability of breaking his heart but Hannah continues to struggle with a man whose alpha persona wants control both in and out of the bedroom. The $ex scenes are intimate erotic and intense but I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word in my romance story lines.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, energetic and familiar secondary and supporting characters: Hannah’s boss and Grant’s love Rio Gibson; Elijah’s business partners Grant Twombley, Sebastian Shark and Abbi Gibson; Sebastian’s executive assistant Carmen; Hannah’s parents Lisa and Dave, her sisters-Agatha and Clemson, as well as Elijah’s ex Hensley Pritchett, and driver/security specialist Lorenzo; architect Jake Cole, and Pia aka Cassiopeia, and her daughter Vela. There may be something developing between Carmen and Agatha. Pia and Jake’s story is next.

ELIJAH’S NEED is a story of family and friendships, relationships and love, revelations and acceptance. The fast paced premise is intriguing and entertaining but does little to resolve the ongoing conflict-Elijah’s ex is still on the prowl, and there may be a traitor working at Shark Enterprises. The romance is seductive and provocative; the characters are determined and charismatic. ELIJAH’S NEED ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

Hannah Farley’s past is mired in darkness, and in this, our heroine struggles to forgive and forget but Hannah’s past has resurfaced, and in this Elijah is determined to protect the woman with whom he is falling in love. Staying with Elijah Banks pushes our couple closer together but Hannah is no submissive, and she refuses to bow or bend for any man, Elijah Banks doesn’t do relationships, and in this, his past refuses to let go. When our heroine is targeted by an unknown threat, Elijah goes into alpha mode, in an effort to ensure Hannah’s safety but the threat may be coming from two different directions.

The relationship between Hannah and Elijah is a frenemies to lovers, a mutual friends relationship in which Hannah battles between head and heart knowing Elijah’s reputation precedes their time together. Hannah is desperate to keep her distance but demons from the past continue to push at our heroine’s sense of safety and self-worth, and Elijah is the perfect port in the proverbial storm that is coming their way. The $ex scenes are intimate and intense but I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word, used regularly throughout the story .

The secondary and supporting characters include Hannah’s boss and Grant’s love Rio Gibson; Elijah’s business partners Grant Twombley, and Sebastian Shark; Sebasitan’s executive assistant Carmen; Hannah’s parents, her sisters, and several security personnel.

ELIJAH’S WHIM is a story of secrets, betrayal, vengeance and obsession. The premise is intriguing, captivating and energetic-but the author tends to drag out certain plot points such that questions are asked but have to be answered; the romance is seductive and erotic; the characters are lively, charismatic, determined and desperate. ELIJAH’S WHIM ends on a cliff hanger-you have been warned.

Rio Gibson struggles with issues of mental illness, and a personal loss sends Rio over the edge forcing our hero to cover for the woman with whom he is falling in love but Rio’s behaviour is placing many lives at risk, and Grant’s need to protect Rio further complicates his partnership with Sebastian Shark, and Shark Enterprises. What ensues is the building but struggling relationship between Grant and Rio, and the potential fall-out as Rio begins to alienate her friends, threatening a life long relationship in the process when her conduct and demeanor continues to exhibit a downward spiral.

REVIEW:SHARK’S EDGE is the first instalment in the contemporary, adult, SHARK’S erotic, romantic suspense series co-authored by Angel Payne and Victoria Blue focusing on billionaire real-estate developer Sebastian Shark, and twenty-two year old, caterer Abbigail ‘Abbi’ Gibson.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Sebastian and Abbi) SHARK’S EDGE follows the building relationship between billionaire real-estate developer Sebastian Shark, and caterer Abbigail ‘Abbi’ Gibson. Sebastian Shark is working on the biggest deal of his life but finds himself distracted by professional caterer Abbigail ‘Abbi’ Gibson, a woman who stirs something deep within our story line hero. A dominant by nature who doesn’t do relationship preferring to pay for the use of a woman’s body, Sebastian makes Abbi an offer she struggles to refuse…but not all is well in Sebastian Shark’s well-ordered world when he becomes the target of someone desperate to destroy his business and his life. Sebastian Shark knows a thing or two about dominating both in and out the boardroom. From business to pleasure, Sebastian is all about sealing the deal using contracts, NDAs and closed door tactics but for months Sebastian has battled his attraction to business woman and caterer Abbi Gibson, a woman who has no place in Sebastian’s world of power and control. Abbi Gibson finds herself attracted to a man who is way out of her league but Sebastian is desperate to keep Abbi under his control realizing there is more than one man hoping to make Abbi his own.

The relationship between Abbi and Sebastian is one of mutual attraction but Sebastian currently holds all of the power in their ‘non-relationship’. Sebastian doesn’t do romance or love but battles between head and heart as it pertains to his feelings about our story line heroine. When more than one man shows interest in our story line heroine, Sebastian struggles to keep himself under control.The $ex scenes are erotic and intense but I have issues with the use of a certain four-letter word in my ‘romance’ story lines.

We are introduced to Sebastian’s PA Terryn; his best friend Grant Twombley; Abbi’s business partner Rio, and businessman Viktor Blake. Grant and Rio’s story commences with Grant’s Heat, Shark’s #4 beginning in May 2020.

SHARK’S EDGE introduces the players and characters who will play pivotal roles in both Sebastian and Abbi’s life. Someone is determined to destroy Sebastian Shark using any means possible including murder and blackmail, one body at a time. The premise is dramatic, engaging, fast paced and captivating; the characters are colorful, energetic and seductive; the romance (or non-romance) is steamy and provocative. Payne and Blue reveal just enough clues to start building the suspense between Sebastian Shark and those trying to take him down. SHARK’S EDGE ends on a cliff-hanger, you have been warned.
