There’s a reason they call me Wylde and it’s not just because it’s my last name.

I might be one of the newest players on the Arizona Vengeance team, but I’m no stranger to the celebrity that goes along with being a professional hockey player. Whether it’s a fan seeking an autograph or a puck bunny looking for more, I’ve grown used to the attention. I not only thrive on it; I use it to my advantage. Let’s just say my bed is rarely empty.

When a quirky redhead at the local bookstore stops me dead in my tracks, I decide to pop in and turn on the trusty Wylde magic. As smart and strong-willed as she is beautiful, Clarke Webber isn’t swayed by my witty banter or charming good looks. And when she realizes who I am and the fame that comes along with it, she likes me even less. Thankfully, I’m always up for a challenge. The more I get to know about her, the more I know my playboy days are behind me.

If I’m going to capture Clarke’s heart, it’s time to be a lot less Wylde, and a lot more Aaron.

REVIEW:WYLDE is the seventh full-length instalment in Sawyer Bennett’s contemporary, adult ARIZONA VENGEANCE erotic, hockey romance series focusing on the members of the Arizona Vengeance professional hockey team. This is Arizona Vengeance team member Aaron Wylde, and book store owner Clarke Webber’s story line. WYLDE can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Wylde and Clarke) WYLDE follows the building relationship between Arizona Vengeance team member Aaron Wylde, and book store owner Clarke Webber. Aaron Wylde is known as the ‘player’ on the Arizona Vengeance but meeting book store owner Clarke Webber stops our hero in his tracks. Clarke Webber is hiding a secret that threatens any potential future with Aaron Wylde-Clarke doesn’t do relationships especially relationships with celebrities and heroes, and in this Clarke refuses to step back into the public eye. What ensues is the slow building romance and relationship between Clarke and Wylde, and the potential fall-out as the media threatens to destroy any chance at happiness for our leading couple.

Aaron Wylde is Arizona Vengeance’s Tacker Hall’s best friend, and Aaron has watched his friend struggle with demons from the past. Knowing something is fueling Clarke Webber’s refusal to date a celebrity, Aaron bides his time as he slowly seduces the woman with whom he will fall in love. Clarke Webber has been hurt in the past; destroyed by betrayal and the ensuing media frenzy, Clarke refuses to place herself in the direct line of fire but dating a member of the Arizona Vengeance comes with the potential, for just that.

The relationship between Wylde and Clarke is one of immediate attraction but Clarke had no idea as to the who and why of Aaron Wylde. Following Clarke’s quick rejection of our story line hero, Wylde begins a slow seduction that will ultimately end when the media attacks the woman he loves. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

There is a large ensemble cast of colorful and energetic secondary and supporting characters including most of the previous story line couples. We are introduced to Clarke’s co-worker and best friend Veronica, players Jett Olsson, Kane Bellan, James Steele, as well as rookies Vance Gather, Trace LaForge, and backup goalie Baden Outlett. Kane’s story is next.

WYLDE is a story of family, friendships, betrayal and revenge. A story of love and laughter, and second chances of a sort for one woman who’s self esteem was destroyed by celebrity and fame. The premise is imaginative and inviting; the romance is flirty and seductive; the characters are spirited and inspiring.
